lilhatchet where you go wrong is using the paint JUST use the resin or gel coat wetndry then wax it and all will be well

any old polyester resin will do for this purpose mate but dont let it contact foam as it will melt it and you will need acetone to clean up any mess and your hands

any polyester resin will do as it will give a nice hard surface and sets fast use a good quality brush and give it a few light coats letting it harden in between then start with 400 wetndry used wet...

coat the wood with polyester resin as its fast and cheap then a bit of rubbing with wetndry down to 1200grit
give it a good polish with G3 or similar wash it thoroughly twice with soapy water and...

if you can find it use sheet wax if not just use plasticene, wack a load on from the outside and scrape of the excess from inside then wack a load of filler on the inside give it 10 mins to harden...

you need to remember that we use low nitro content in the uk due to the massive cost of it over here, so we tend to stick to 5% nitro which is still about 30-35 dollars a gallon 30% is about $120 -...

model planes are meant for flying and thats it so unless your doing combat build it as lite as you can

EG mine has survide 5 crashes(then its over engineered to heavy) thats ok for a trainer so...

wether using epoxy or polyester just remember that pigment doesnt get hard!!!
so you add say 10% pigment to it then you can only expect the surface to be 90% as hard as it could be!!!

the problem isnt with the glass OR carbon its the resin you choose!! youll need to use an epoxy high temp resin and it needs to be post cured at a higher temp than its going to reach in use otherwise...

PESONALLY I dont use PVA BUT you must bare in mind I do this stuff for a living!!
SO I HARDLY ever do a 1OFF and even then I dont use pva in case in the future its needed again SO all my molds are...

I would gues that you are putting the gel on too thin?

your probably using more gell when using the clear so u can see where it is?

for thinning you should REALLY use styreene not acetone!!...

it may be that your release agent is too good?

try buffing the mold hard with a clean cloth and then gel it ok

they fly ok on the 2st but just seem better on the 4st it makes you feel calmer and everything seems less...

my CoG is at 170mm and its too much for me as I cant get the bloody thing down it comes in trying to prophang so I need to move mine forward a bit

much better today keep the speed down for high alpha KE and as it speeds up release more rudder but its still a handfull though?
