Although accurate in your calculations, you're slightly misguided in their application. A=AhxC gives what your battery CAN supply, not what it will.

5500 is pretty big. Most likely heaps of power but I don't know about the weight. Hopefully some of the other guys running heavier batteries will chime in about now and...<br type="_moz" />

Motor bolts straight in - 3mm shaft though.

I'd have to say the best (and mostly unhelpful) advice I can give you is: Buy the gruntiest battery you can afford.

Hey,

1mm alloy would be tough as, but also pretty heavy. I think for the scale, there is no way alloy can compete with ABS. The hull isn't really the issue with these machines.

But 19mm jets on...

Just stick em together any old way, and if it goes the wrong way, swap two of them.

My ESC didn't have connectors, so I snipped the ends off the motor cables and went for the solder / heatshrink...

I don't advise using nail polish remover. Not if it's acetone based.
