RE: ESM 50cc Corsair

WOW Sad news indeed. :( I for one will miss him. He was a gentleman and loved to share his knowledge. My deepest regards to his wife and children.

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair

Kwik, Mr Grump and Stoat and others thank you all for your comments.
I have sufficient serious scale warbirds to keep me happy (maybe lol). So it's the TopFlite GS plane I'm going with.

I...

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair

I still haven't gotten an answer to my question would ya'll recommend this plane as a beater plane? Really scale planes I have already, but I lost my GS TF Mustang of 12 or more years when a tree...

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair

Some corsairs leak fuel at the seams so those lines are tape to help seal things up.. After fuel is burnt off it's not a problem.

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair

Would someone who's built and flown this plane recommend it over say a Byron or TP ARF?
Thank you.

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair

Try heating the fuse, pop it out and put something behind it until it cools..

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair

A good friend flies nothing but Saito Radials, both the 325 and the 450's. The 325 is fine for a plaine weighing 20-22 lbs. Any thing more and it may fly but its marginal on performance. The 450...

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair

I have Seidel radial, yet unrun. From what I have learned about the engine the fuel mess is minimal at best. Plus it fits within the cowl. There maybe a youtube video of an ESM flying with the...

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair

I would read the TF Corsair thread for information. Then re-read this thread. LOTS of differences between the two.

Personally I like the looks of the ESM better.. glass fuse etc and not Mono...

Good landing. I havent seen the ESM...

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair

There's a new type of fuel tank that had the pick up running along a brass tube. Supposedly this solves regardless of where the fuel is in the tank. I was trying to find a picture of it but I can't...

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair

My physics says that gravity has equal effect on all bodies regardless of their mass. There for both the fuel and the plane are falling at the same rate. There may be something in the position of...

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair

A scale plane can typically fly at 1 hp/10lbs. So you have a rocket. Not to mention flutter and extra air frame stress thats a real potential. Good luck.

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair

Crash, sorry I didn't mean to sound like I was looking for a fight. I have used just about every type of control system in my 40? plus years. Most are push rods but not always.

A lot of WWI...

RE: ESM 50cc Corsair

Plenty of full size birds use cables for nearly all control surfaces so why shouldn't/couldn't a model?
