RE: Tamiya or HL??

I'll say one last thing about my HL Tiger. If I hadn't bought it due to the low price, I may never have gotten into the hobby. Thanks HengLong for getting me hooked (again) on tanks.

RE: Tamiya or HL??

Friends,

In all honesty, I was just trying to help...really. I love tanks, always have, always will. It's a guy thing I suppose. I had a friend over this evening who is 50 years old and a serious...

RE: Tamiya or HL??

Finally some brave soul exposes the naked Emperor for all to see. I'm so sorry I posted after my initial opinion. If I were a better tanker I'd have built something and posted about that. Thank God,...

RE: Tamiya or HL??

YHR really does make HL "sow's ears" into "silk purses". I have 3 HL's now and that's where I will stay until my skills improve. I think I should have channeled my resources into making that first HL...

RE: Tamiya or HL??

FYI,

I never meant my comment to be a shot across the bow in another HL vs Tamiya skirmish. I was honestly trying to save this guy from the frustration and disappointment I have experienced with...

RE: Tamiya or HL??

Hey BigMig,

You know I'm only "takin' a pish" as the Scots say. I have had a fascination with armor since I was a kid. I first bought a 1/16 scale HL Tiger I from Banana Hibby to impress my son...

RE: Tamiya or HL??

Whoa, I'm not sure if I should show these pictures to my wife so I look mild by comparison or hide them lest she fear what may become of me...

I bet you'd feel better just giving all that stuff...

RE: Tamiya or HL??

I'd like to think a certain HL Tiger helped you to make that decisionhttp://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/wink_smile.gif. Another Tamiya plus is the resale value. A...

RE: Tamiya or HL??

My comment didn't go through, very odd.

My experience has been the psychology of HL is to suck one into buying several "bargain" tanks which become "money pits" as one becomes more demanding of...

RE: Tamiya or HL??

HULU,

It was the sound of that darned Tamiya Pershing that finally converted me, so throaty and deep, it made my chest vibrate! When I compared it to the HL Pershing the Tamiya's suspension was...

RE: Tamiya or HL??

I wasn't very clear, my bad.

1.)You don't need any of that stuff (It's a fun toy tank after all)
2.) I was trying to do an "equivalent feature" cost analysis for someone who was trying to make...

RE: Tamiya or HL??

YHR,

Good points, but Ithought the Tamiya elevation was faster and more responsive. The HLelevation cycles from up to down etc which takes longer. (Not that it really matters in RCcombat where you...

RE: Tamiya or HL??

That Panzer IIIis outstanding. You would be reckless to hammer it though an RC battle course with all those detail items jangling around, plus Tamiya does not make a Pzkw III so HLis the only game in...

RE: Tamiya or HL??

The Tamiya will have metal idlers actually, but your point is correct. The big difference is that the box stock Tamiya Tiger I or Tiger II for $575 from AAF will be much better detailed and have much...

RE: Tamiya or HL??

Listen to Panther G. I have 5 HL's and I'd trade them all plus some ca$h for one good Tamiya KT. You can only drive one tank at a time and the HL's cost way more in the long run to make them sound...
