RE: Are Pattern Planes Good 2nd Planes?

I LIKE THEM BOTH!  hehe thats the problem.  I dont have $240 for both kits. LOL.  However I saw your posts in that thread with your 3 models, the yellow one with flames and 91 FS.  That is a very...

RE: Are Pattern Planes Good 2nd Planes?

I found a build by SeamusG on the KC. Found some useful information on it to, and have some ideas to modify it a bit to look like a P-51.

RE: Are Pattern Planes Good 2nd Planes?

I just compared the Dirty Birdy 60 to the Killer Chaos 60.  The wing area on the  DB60 is 688 sqi, and on the KC60 its 700 sqi.  The weight of the DB 60 is 7.75 lbs, the KC60 is 6.5 lbs.   Does that...

RE: Are Pattern Planes Good 2nd Planes?

Like a WWI Bipe that my friend has. That sucker has such a short nose on it. I keep telling him its too tail heavy and thats why its so hard to fly. He has the cowl for it that has a chunk of lead...

RE: Are Pattern Planes Good 2nd Planes?

I can say on the 4* build I took a lot of time to balance it in all directions, set the throws by the book, and made minor adjustments until I had the ailerons just right.  When I maidened her, all...

RE: Are Pattern Planes Good 2nd Planes?

Hmm, you might have something there. On take off, it also veers left the moment the tail comes up. It is an ARF, but that doesnt mean they have the FW on right. I coule add a couple washers to the...

RE: Are Pattern Planes Good 2nd Planes?

Oh I dont know about that. My second plane is a modified Kadet LT40. It has only had a cracked leading edge and busted ribs on its second flight, and had the landing gear sheared off on a bad...

RE: Are Pattern Planes Good 2nd Planes?

I can hammerhead my Kadet, but the 4* noses over when I try it.  Really confuses me too.  It also likes to yaw left on the vertical, so I need right rudder for it to go straight.   It doesn't have...

RE: Are Pattern Planes Good 2nd Planes?

LOL I meant Tame, not lame.  I dont have room to fly or store a 50CC Warbird, just enough for a 20cc one.  Someday my P-51 will be done. In the mean time, I am always looking for a second project.

RE: Are Pattern Planes Good 2nd Planes?

The DB 60 shown has a trike setup, thats why I was asking if it can be a tail bird, and such that is is. I just may get both.   After flying the 4*120, I'm really wanting a snappy plane. It's good,...

RE: Are Pattern Planes Good 2nd Planes?

Magnum 91 4S. Actually I got them confused, the one I have been eyeing is the Killer Chaos 60. I like tail draggers now. The KC has the retract option too.

RE: Are Pattern Planes Good 2nd Planes?

Ihave been eyeing that kit for a while now. How would it fly with a magnum 52 on it? You say the 91 didn't fit, thats the other motor I have.

RE: Are Pattern Planes Good 2nd Planes?

I know where you can get a 4*40 ARF, they may still have a red and yellow one, those dont seem to be going anywhere.  Considering getting the yellow one to put my Magnum 52 on. Depends on my next...
