I just burnt out my steering servo, this kinda sucks now. Was it just me, or are the servos a bit weak?

I need to get a new spur gear, i stripped it with a 3S and a lot of speed runs :\

I've been in this hobby since 2004, then took a few year break 2006-2010, and I've never had such a streak of bad luck before. Ijust dont want to burn up my expensive electronics :\

Other than updating the firmware, could there be any other reason(physical)that could cause the ESC to heat up?I almost had it it 180F today. It melted the glue that held it on.

Its a stock brushless ESC, with a 2S 5000 mah 30C venom battery.

Also the motor and battery stay within good temperature. Motor is at 140-150 tops, and the battery never even hit 100. This is all...

Does anyone know what would cause the ESC to heat up to 170F, while the motor is around 140, and the battery at 100F. It also was 100F+outside.

You're right, I was being cheap, but its hard not to be when money is hard to make you know?

I will take your advice, and spend the extra on that pack. Higher output = more power, and longer life...
