RE: Encroaching suburbia & the flying field

We've been there for 25 years and the local council approved our land for model aero flying a long time ago. The problems are, over the years in addition to houses being built nearby, our models have...

RE: Encroaching suburbia & the flying field

We already own the land and have done so for 25 years. Unfortunately this doesn't give us the legal right to do as we please. We still have to abide by the law and respect other people's rights as...

Encroaching suburbia & the flying field

Our field was established many years ago when we were in a rural part of Western Australia with no near neighbours or houses. It was also a time when models were not that big and engines were...

RE: Dave Brown Products

I've given up on DBP. Here's some of my last message to them/him.

ESC on-board Sw Mode BEC

I favor Jeti ESC's with on board switched mode BEC's that can supply up to 5 Amps. I add an additional electrolytic capacitor 4700Uf plugged into a spare socket on the Rx to give additional filtering...

RE: Dave Brown Products

Gregory, many thanks for your interest. I guess all I can do is WA! (Western Australia and/or Wait Awhile!) I'll let you know if and when it all happens!

RE: Dave Brown Products

Oh ho hum, still waiting to hear from DBP when I might get my spinner. Not so much as a peep but then it's only around 6 weeks since I sent my order. Maybe I'm impatient? I sent another email but no...

RE: Dave Brown Products

Thanks for your reply Tom and for your insight to DBP's customer relations attitudes. As my credit card has not yet been charged I can only imagine my job is still pending. Who knows? I live in...

Dave Brown Products

Does anyone know if DBP is still in business or have they closed up shop? I ordered one of their special cut spinners over a month ago but not a peep from them. Also no reply to emails. I wonder what...

RE: Titebond Glue

Thank you all for the replies. I think it will be just fine.
I was concerned that it is a bit on the brittle side when dry but then so is CA glue!

Any comments on the use of Titebond Original Wood Glue for normal balsa and ply scratch building?
I've been using Weldbond for years but it's suddenly become difficult to obtain in my part of the...

RE: AUSTARS Model Pty Ltd - Cessna 152 ARTF

I am tempted! Just wondering if it will fit into my car! If I do then will probably fit an AXI. Do you run a separate RX battery or have you found a suitable switched mode power supply? Have you...

RE: AUSTARS Model Pty Ltd - Cessna 152 ARTF

Just watched your video which seems to answer my question. I guess extended battery tap leads to access the charger?

RE: AUSTARS Model Pty Ltd - Cessna 152 ARTF

Steve 2972, how easy is it to change batteries? Do you have to remove the wing and struts each time? Great photos!

4s/2s power?

How would the Saito FG-36 power output relate to say one of the 2 stroke Zenoah's? I assume the 4s power is down on an equivalent capacity 2s so maybe a G26?

Zenoah glow/petrol(gas) power output

I have a Zenoah G26 glow version engine. Can I expect similar or more/less power output than the more common gas version?

RE: Spektrum DX-7

Could this be a reflection of your TX signal from the large metal tower mass in the background and arriving at your RX from the rear and with a time delay? In a previous post elsewhere, it was...

RE: What is the most flexible pushrod system?

If you are looking at Richard L's pics he doesn't have any troubles with that set up! It's because he is using that particular Dubro cable. It is very flexible and has surprisingly little binding...

RE: Cell tap connections

Seems nobody in the world knows. Must be one of those mysteries of life. Two red wires to 1 & 2 and two black wires to 3 & 4.
I can't see where they go without pulling the pack apart so maybe I...
