Like playing a piano?

Does anyone else think you'll only be as good a pilot as your DNA will allow you to be?

I've been flying for five years now, and I'm beginning to wonder if I'm as good now as I'll ever be. Now,...

RE: New made in USA diesel coming??

Well, I kind of got into this thread by researching diesels. I don't actually fly them.

Your points are valid about open spaces. Don't get me wrong. There are aspects about electric that are...

RE: New made in USA diesel coming??

Who said anything about not believing? Knowlege of electric and 10 lb. setups? I've been flying eletric for quite some time, so I know what it costs.

I fly both glow and electric. Yes, electric...

RE: New made in USA diesel coming??

Only you have to be Donald Trump to afford to fly 10 pounds electric.

RE: CG Chipmunk blessed

Thanks. I probably should have worded the description of the event better.

I didn't mean to suggest the wing came off in the air. What I meant by flapping was alternate drooping on each side and...

CG Chipmunk blessed

So I finally got my kit built CG Super Chipmunk out to our private field a year after I started building it. The build was long done, but little odds and ends took almost as long to get around to.

RE: Help me find a kit

I have over 200 kits in my kit database and still working on it. Maybe it will help you find something. You can search by wingspan, engine size, etc.

RE: Dwindling kit suppliers

Interesting you would interpret it that way, but actually it was only meant to illustrate that times change. It's the same as the old "when I was a kid, I couldn't do this or didn't have that" It...

RE: Dwindling kit suppliers

I'd bet money that way back when kits were just coming on the scene (when all a person could DO was build from scratch) those guys were grumbling about how lazy people were getting to have to have...

RE: Making mistakes ... that sinking feeling ...

My new building rule is:

NEVER IN THE SPRING

I have made more impatient rushing mistakes on my GB Chipmunk that I care to mention.

I was in such a hurry to get it out to the field that...

RE: Lubricating Pushrods?

I use bigger and more powerful servos and a water cooling system to keep the tubes cool and counter the friction.

RE: CG Super Chipmunk instruction book

The manual IS absolutely awful. Especially for a $150 kit. The photos are almost useless.

If I ever get another one, (I do like the airplane), I'm going to follow the manual and shoot the exact...

RE: Carl Goldberg Super Chipmunk--Apr. 2006

RE: RC Kit Database?

That's what the column that now shows "KIT" is for. It will change to plan if not a kit.

And, for now I'll be staying with kits only. ARFs come and go so fast I'd do nothing but update my whole...

This is interesting.

For instance, if I were to leave out every kit that had a ABS cowl, there wouldn't be a lot left!

Thanks for the link. I'll be sure to add them.
