If you are going to use diesel and want super density and long hang time, then buy some paraffin blocks and let them melt into the diesel and mix well. That's the old way of doing it. You'll have...

The lamp oil you get at WalMart is nothing more then scented and/or tinted kerosene. You can purchase it at any home improvement store in 5 gallon cans for a lot less.
