Default Is it posibble to convert a G260RC to G260PUM

I think its possible to convert this to this. Id like some input on this but i think it should be possible. Maybe by changing the part where the flywheel is and the normal head to a watercooled one. Id like some input before i start ordering parts to convert it.

Thx guys.

Im going to use it in this hull i made.59'' long, I dont need it to go really fast as this will be a show off boat and i just cant spend more money on more engines. I got a g260rc just sitting in my workshop.

If the motor isn't closed in ,no need for water cooling.

Well that is true but the engine will be closed off and would need water cooling. Any ideas on where to find some clone marine engines for cheap. I took a look at most of the usual places but cant find anything that is like 200$ for me with shipping. Id even buy used.

You're running into a double-edged sword in a way. You need a certain amount of speed to run cooling water through the system yet you want to cruise around with it. Fully enclosing the engine cuts it off from the air that would normally do the job for you. With going to a water-cooled system at low speeds then you'd need a vacuum-operated water pump. A water-cooled top end kit should do the job for you, a bolt-on but then consider the water pump also. You should be able to do the conversion for under $100.00 going that way.

Go on ebay or Amazon and order the water cooled head. I see them all the time for sale. Not to expensive.

It would cost twice as much as just buying the G260PUM in the first place.

You need every part of the G260PUM to make a RC engine into a small flywheel water cooled engine. About the only thing that is the same is the piston, ring, wrist pin and bearing.

You would need new cases, crank, flywheel, pullstart, cylinder, water cap, the two coils. That would easily total well over the $220 that a new G260PUM costs.

You could get a new G300PUM for about the same money also.

Try Joe at Zippkits these cant be beat for the price but if your just needing a slow boat then you could try a clone.Pretty sure these will be available in the states.
personally if your looking for a slower hull then id go with a big electric motor and a large lead acid battery,a few people have used the mobility scooter motors and the ones from kids ride in jeeps etc for this, they give great power and long run times.
