RE: apache owners
I like the staggered theme. It is also kind of scale in a way. I may just have to go that route. I see my bill going up, up, up. this may be an interesting project for me.

Twins will fit if you stagger them, its been done a few times .

RE: apache owners
the reason i mentioned inline twin is he had said he needed a gearbox to work with the drives and as far as going stagered i would go with RCMK s as you can get them in eather left or right hand rotation im not shure whart is involved in making the Arrow shark drive counter rotated might be able to just order them that way if you can get the drive already counter rotated that will open your build to any engine with out having to buy alot of extra parts take the counter rotated Zenoah from Bonzi think it list at $ 600.00 as compaired to a counter rotated RCMK at about $ 250..00

RE: apache owners
Yes, I thought of this today. The Arrow Shark MC611 drive can spin either way. So I do need one of each motor, been looking at motors today and prices.
Sorry Martno, Stig did not make the drivers cut this round. scared Warehouse Hobbies guys will navigate my rig.
Today the Apache went into paint. He said he could not get to it until the end of next week. It is going to be pretty neat. When I get the hull back I will start my own build thread so I don't trash this one.

RE: apache owners
I emailed Tony at Warehouse hobbies and asked if he can do a counter rotate engine. His prices seemed ok. I was looking at RCMK but did not find a price list? Did I miss it or is there a vendor here in the states?

RE: apache owners
Thanks. Looks like perfect engines!! Drives have been ordered. Dang that hurt. Now to get someone to build me exhuast with dual outlets, just like the real thing.

A over 50"Apache can easely take a RCMK-S520 twin engine. (best option IMHO)
Bolt a WD-200 gearbox (with or without clutch) to it.
Aaron Williams is building same kind of set-up.

RE: apache owners
Your going to think Iam crazy, but with this setup or twin setups either way I want quad exhaust. Dual tips for each pipe. Iwill probably have to have someone build this for me. Know anyone that handy? Thought about asking Tony at Ware House Hobbies, he said he would build a quad exhaust but I think this is to attach to a single pipe, I need to divide it up. I like your setup. Nice motor.

Hi all, I just finished my Apache build (well, actually it´s a Navaho, from Mart) hope you dont mind me showing my boat!
Twin motors and struts, single rudder.
Why would you mind? ... -well It is electric powered, only smoke it produces is proof of poof and I hope it never appears. (again )
Just returned from the maiden, here is a video

Had minor problems and too small props so it will be faster one day.
Build thread is viewable at OSE if interested to see what this has inside.

Perhaps now is a good time to drop a gas motor in her!!
Sorry to see all the smoke - hope nothing too expensive

Not yet ready to turn her ic, but getting closer...
It was only an esc that went poof, about 40$ worth of chinese engineering -but if that would have not been mounted on the stainless servo mount there would have been a large burned hole in her!
The smell is still unbeliveable, now where did I put that denat.alchohol... need to get that hull clean.

RE: apache owners
Stick to your guns Pate ,i think plenty more to come from your setup, pitty about the esc but it proves that it was faulty all along with the hiccups you had with it before.Boat looked to be running well, would love to see a pic of you wearing that cam on your hat though lol.

RE: apache owners
Just wanted to post here also, my Navaho is finally working like planned, cheapo electric setup and over 40mph so far.
video

New 910kv motors and new hk esc´s. No heat issues with 57mm props, 5517/3 propshops made the electrics hot, no more then 2 minute runs possible with them, but using the 57mm plastic ones I can drive the whole battery capacity.
So far so good!
