RE: apache owners
I have been shopping and I am narrowing down my selections. Ilike the Arrow Shark products, but I have wimped out and decided not to purchase the MC6II drive at the time and go with the traditional strut and rudder. ( I may continue to think about it and may change my mind) I figured if all goes well I can upgrade to that later. So I can get the mono package with pretty much everything Ineed and buy a motor and I like that adjustable motor mount.Radio and a few other things get me going.
But, I also like Warehouse Hobbies products. I looked at his web site and he has the new XM6 Force engine that produces just over 5hp, but Tony does not have an adjustable engine mount. I don't really think Ineed the adjustable engine mount. Did Isee a calculation for engine position in the hull? I think maybe you guys would have a pretty good idea where the motor should sit.
Paint, I just want to do the Indian head dress on the side. Iam trying to locate a local painter or someone who does air brush work on Motorcycle helments. We have lots of hot rod car shops in this area so I will find someone.
Drivers. I like the Warehouse Hobby guys. May try and order some stuff soon. Want to think about the drive thing over the weekend. You guys give me some pro's or con's on the drives.

RE: apache owners
pro and cons for the drive are as follow great looks easy adjustments as you can adjust the trim angle for calm or rough water verry quickly handle well cons costly to repair limmited hp you can put through them and keep them reliable allittle more maintenance limited in the diamiter of props and with the NEW Arrow Shark drive there is no history on how well they work another guy on the fourm has a pair and like the quality of them but i dont know anyone who has run them yet

Thanks guys! Yea, in my head I thought there was another company that made drivers like WWH but it just said they looked a little scared so they made their shields black. I kind of like Ken and his friends in the one pic. I will take a look at Walmart and see what I can find.
Where did he get these vents for the engine hatches?

RE: apache owners
I had an idea. I found a boat for sale with a MHZ outdrive and running a RCMK engine. I want the drive, wish it had 2 but not sure about the engine? Any good? If you guys think the comb is good I may make and offer on this thing and just take everything out of it and put it in my apache. Although every time I look at that Apache with the twin drives I want to do twins so bad. The price is good enough that it is worth buying and taking apart for my Apache.

RE: apache owners
A used engine regardless of the brand is a gamble. Iam not sure which RCMK the boat you are looking at has. Both the RCMK and RCMK Evo make more HPout of the box than a stock Zen. I have both and the only issue I have had is with the pickup coil on one. I'm sure if you use the search function you will find lots of information on the RCMK.

RE: apache owners
its always a gamble when you buy used the RCMK engines are great the big question when getting a used drive is was it taken care of right as they are very expensive to repair i did the same as you are thinking i bought a compleet boat just to get the drive i was lucky ans the seller was local to me so i was able to go see the boat and saw all the paperwork so i felt safe doing the deal

RE: apache owners
Thanks for all the info guys. Today I am trying to track down a local artist who does air brush work for cars and such. I want to do an Indian with the big head dress on the sides of the boat. Not sure if we will do anything else. Maybe he will be creative. Getting ready to order drivers. I emailed Tony at Warehouse hobbies and he said he would build me a set of quad exhaust if needed. I think I have decided to go with twin MC6II drives from Arrow Hawk. I just need to figure out a gear box that will work with these or go with twin Nitro motors?? I don't think I can fit twin gas motors in my hull?? I emailed Arrow Hawk to try and get some info. I wanted to call but I did not find a phone number.
