Thanks Cobus!!! Great pics- looks like the tunnels are still running strong. Is that your hull in the pic? Are you running your tunnel this year?

Dion.

That is the tunnel I design but it is not running as the guy is not racing this year. I'm busy now laying up a new hull for another boater who is racing so in the new season will have one of my hulls racing in the championship. Hopefully from there it would start building up.

Hi Dion......I have seen Cobus's F1 hull close up. It is a very nice looking design. Very modern in looks and lines.

Hi there Dom!! It is a very new looking design. Maybe Cobus can put some pics up of the bottom and rear. Your hulls are very popular. Is that an Insane hull in there as well?

Hi Dion - what do you mean by a Camber 'bracket' ?.....do you mean a complete leg ?
I do intend to still make further Camber legs .....however ....I have spent most all of my time this year on developing / manufacturing and surfing the ********....just loving it.
I do need to run another batch of at least 10 legs some time soon.....I have been receiving quite a few inquiries lately to warrant it....and I want to launch the HV Electric F1OB in 2014
Since I stopped racing the F1's back in 2011... I'm simply 'not in the F1OB zone'....
I do still have that 'second hand' Camber leg set aside for you - I just need to service it....and clean it up.....I just don't seem to get there.
Regards
Dom

Lol, all good mate there is a guy over here that just started a thread on our local site looking for one of your lowers. I suggested he email you. I remember a while back now you spoke of making a part for the camber leg that would take away the camber- I thought it was the block between the transom mount and leg. I may have this all wrong. If you have any of the ss carb covers left, I would like one of those also.
Cheers,
Dion.

Cobus. These legs are good quality I have been experimenting with an electric version with an adaptor plate because i didnt want the clutch. but to be honest I wish i had have gone with the clutch makes 1 person launching much easier and alot easier to trim the boat. as for the maintenance you fill the gearbox with gear oil and change it roughly every 10 outings. Ive done around 15 days now and still the oil looks in good condition highly reccommended. if your looking purchasing one let me know im the australian importer for mhz

Hey IAN,
OuCH ! Had that mutt knocked your boat while you were neck to neck to the finish line against it, you won't feel so bad would you?
. Keep up the effort mate. May your hull hit the water soon so we'll also know the result.
F1 Rodman.
Your hull look fantastic . Does she run as well as she look ?
WE are going the same way i.e. Inboard set up on the F1 design and with the motor cowl on the right scale to the hull dimension, sur e turned some heads doesn't she. The rear ex. sure help nto keep a clean look.
I have done this before and I think I'll go back to the same system. I'll put my throtle servo, receiver and battery pack in one radio box and stuff the whole thing in the cockpit, almost on the floor, while the steering servo would be in a separate watertight servo box fitted close to the transom. Insulated y harness would be used to link the steering servo to the receiver.
In this way, I wouldn't need to move rear ex tuned pipe should I want to get to the receiver or change the battery. In case of a blow over, the chances of the radio box in the cockpit ending below the water level is lessen especially with some polystyrene foam glued under the cockpit for more floatation at that part of the hull. Air bag maybe ? Just my return to the old ways to share.
Meanwhile here's a pic of one of my old design with some whistles and bells to share.

I want to buy one of those red/white/blue "Tamoil" boats. It doesn't need to be painted or anything.Ijust want to buy the hull (brand-new, of course).
How canI go about buying one from you?

RE: GAS OUTBOARD guys this is our new home
I took the powder coating off the bottom for a more realistic look. These photos have generated alot of interest in the hobby for outboards. Ive sold 5 of these units in australia to people that saw them in other areas of the interent. These people had full size race boats and wanted a smaller scale looking boat to display and hence they came and purchased the lower gearbox from me. If any one wants pricing your more than welcome to contact me through the email on the this forum cheers Jay.

Hi to all F1 boaters..trust you are all well and still 'having a Gas !..........
Hi J......sorry for the 'late' response .........I would not recommend our YPC pipe .....it is designed specifically for the 26 cc capacity and timing...... It would not hurt to try one if you have one close by.....you may want to lengthen the manifold length.
Lex !......stunning build.....absolute detail.....would be great to see it running...
I am currently building a F1 Outboard for a fellow in the US...however....the rcSurfing has really captured most all of my attention.....
Please all !....always feel free to drop me a PM should you have any questions regarding the YPC F1's....or any related F1 issues....

Hi J....
The bigger CC will produce less RPM.....IMO the 26cc is the better choice......going bigger in CC will give you more power/lower RPM = bigger Prop pitch - however - most flex drive outboard set ups will not handle the extra torque and flex shaft failure will be even more of an issue. A bigger Prop will also produce more 'torque roll'...F1's don't run any trim tabs so that will be difficult to counter......left turns could become a problem and the hull will more than likely hang to the right, more so when it is 'aired out'
Higher RPM / smallest diameter prop is the ideal.......even a well tuned 23cc would be a good option for a great Gas F1 set up...
