you will get 60 mph, dont over rev the motor to much the bearings dont like it, get a 2716x2 20 rake and she will rip, the s270 was a nice prop, sharp as.

im going to build another cat hull, i have carb clearnce issuse with the seaducer and the quickdraw, so i have been readings lots about the falcon cat and the conquest cat.

so my advice witht he falocn is not from personal expernice as ive nver ran one, but its from reading dam near every thread and post about them, and the strut adivce is from an rc boat with a welded flexi shaft.

i wish you all the best oz you will hit your target, but you might need a new longer flexi shaft with so you can run with more gap fromt he strut and drive dog and a cat prop like wally sugested and it will fly.

keep me updated as im very intrested in the falcon cat and its propgress

Glad things are moving up for you. Get the 2716 and you'll soon be bored with the speeds you are doing now

I just got a 2716 20* prop in the mail this past week and am anxious to see how well it wakes up my Falcon. It also got an RCMK Evo during the winter.

Oz...
My CG is at 14" from the transom, with half(250mls) of fuel in IV bag.
I run a few different props, but as they all say, the 7016 x 2 is far the best. I also run a pranther 275 ss, Propworks 7016 x 3, ABC 2818 x 2. I currently am getting more prop work done by my local prop doctor on some 7016 x 2, rounding and different cupping, so that i can then have more head aches. Thank god for GPS & tachoes.
Oz if you need any prop work done, drop me a line as my mate does them for people all over the world.. He is a freak with them and very cheap too.
Heres the pics you asked for....

Cheers Scoot

i was told when i bought hull to mount motor as far forward as possible as i can get it . seems nose heavy, would like to c nose a bit more in the air , plus as soon as u back off nose drops & its like u hit the brakes . have heard about balance points n would love to know what sort of measurements they r .

props like abc with rake can help with the ride attitude of your boat.

A 10deg rake has the most lift (bow dow).
A 15deg rake has a bit less lift (more bow up).
A 20deg rake has the least lift (lots of bow up).

this is why some people have recomended an abc 2716/20*

the * number is the amount of rake, it can help with ride atitude of the boat and ive found the more bow up the looser the baot will run and the more speed it will do, the key is the balance between speed and handling for sport boat use.

thanks Shane , wasn't sure what rake realy was , maybe a bit to embarrassed to ask,had a look at ya cat , tricky situation with carby , i reckon i would consider choppin up hull n cowl to give more room as fibre glass is good to work with , down side is new paint job

i know where your comming from im in the same boat, i only found out what rake was a short while agofrom trolling a forums for hours on end, then i got talking to a couple of prop guys in the usa and was able to put the infomation into use.

its one thing to recomend a prop, but if you dont understand why they recomended that prop some times is hard to take in the infomation, so i though i would post that up for you as when i read it it made sence to me, and if i had known that info befor i could of used it.

i actualy stole that from a guy i forget his name, but his forum nick name is qdrevernger he seams to know his stuff and had been doing well with is cat.

i think from the hours of reading ive been doing on the falcon cat they prop wally recomend would be the go, if you the coin and mabe a 15 just incase 20 is to much, but im only going from reading about other witht he falcon not from personal expernce.

i to have been using a low lift prop on mys eaducer but the prop is to small for the quickdraw, so i will get it remoded, with the my cat ive had a couple of people offer to buy it, but i cant be stuffed shipping it and it has showed lots of promise sofar and i think one i can get it to breath it will be a easy 110 kmh if i can get it to stay ont he water.

im in the middle of moving town and starting a new job so ill give the seaducer a rest for a bit, if i keep it ill jsut chop it up and to day i picked up some more dremel bits as they where on speical, jsut incase major sergery is needed, but i still will buy a new hull as well since i should have a bit more coin kicking around from the new job and im keen to build a new boat and not refit second hand boats

OZ.. The best speed out of bubbles so far is 56mph, with a 7016 x 2 blade that had a bit of cup. Once i get the new ones (7016) done ....hopefully i will join the 60 club. Its all about the rite set up with the rite prop. So they say......

Got mine running mid 60's GPS, the Falcon is set with motor 14 1/2" from transom to center of plug. have strut in second hole back from transom and running the strut 3/8" above bottom of sponsons. Also running the 2716/2 2 with barr cut, rounded tips and cupped. Self Mod. motor and prop.
If you have any other question I will be happy to try and answer.
Good Luck;
Randy

Also have my strut over to the right 3/16" helps at higher speeds when boat wants to prop walk. Not to bad, need to do a little more prop work.
