New Scratch Built Cat
I am trying to come up with a design for a nitro cat. It will have an OS 46 Marine engine. I am thinking the size will need to 14 wide by 31 long. Is this in the ballpark I need for this size engine? Also need some info on the width and depth of the tunnel. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

RE: New Scratch Built Cat
If you could cross-breed an Aeromarine Mean Machine and a Thundercat 31 hull I think you would be good to go. Pretty fast I bet and would turn on a dime.

Look up Jim Finch's book titled"Advanced R/C Boat Modeling", produced by Air Age, Inc. It contains design theory for monos, cats, tunnels, 3-point hydros and outriggers, along with how different features of each hull design will change how the boat will perform. Also included is discussion of engines, drive trains, props and trimming the boat out for best ride. Good stuff!
There may be other boat design books out there, does anyone care to list their favorite design guides?
