RE: Central NEW YORK boaters
Hi Guys,<div>Just got back from the pond, they raced until about 7:15 tonight and got thru a little over (1) round.</div><div>Tommy's JAE was definately competitive, but still having fuel delivery problems. He started both races but after about 2-3 laps boat just stops. We're going to try a different needle valve tomorrow. </div><div>Cindy's ran into the buoy in the first heat, trying to avoid a dead boat, so didn't get a start on that one. The second race, got a fourth, but needs to be leaned some for more speed.</div><div>Took a bunch of vids, but am too tired to download tonite. Other than the twins, which we're partial to, the single engine "f" boats are smoking fast. One of the guys also has a JAE 45 with a CMB 67 in it which is a rocket.</div><div>Weather has been mid 80's and little wind. Guess we didn't need the winter garb we brought!</div><div>T&C</div>

RE: Central NEW YORK boaters
Hi Guys,<div>Racing today from 8:00 am until 7:00 p.m. - starting again tomorrow at 8. Makes for a long day, but we're enjoying every minute of it.
<div>Went to the lean side today and it bit us - can't seem to get a needle down here. Guess we're going to have to add 3rd channels to the boats next year. Will go to the "evil Bob" side tomorrow on both boats - got nothing to lose.</div><div>Weather conditions are great, no wind, sunny and mid-80's. </div><div>T&C</div><div> </div></div> |

What servos are being used in the gas Whiplash? A 1/4 scale servo is too big for the small radio box. ,The paint on the radio box is pealing. So that needs fixing. Finding the same color paint ,not really
Craig ,gas JAE ??? what's next ?? |

Finding the same color paint ,not really Craig ,gas JAE ??? what's next ?? As far as servos, you can get standard size digital servos with a lot of torque. I have one in my 20 Tunnel, it's powerful since I am turning the motor. It's a hi-tec, I will look tonight when I get home. The standard size digital servos are replacing the analog 1/4 scale servos as far as torque. Futaba has even dropped some of their 1/4 scale analog servos, which kinda sucks.... |
RE: Central NEW YORK boaters
Digital high torque works great. Go all digital then you can use your 3PM in HRS mode and set fail safes. I use Savox servos.

RE: Central NEW YORK boaters
Neil, Here are two HiTec std size Hi Torque Digital servos:
http://www.hitecrcd.com/products/ser...hs-5645mg.html (Been out for several years; Street price:$47) http://www.hitecrcd.com/products/ser...hs-5685mh.html (New P/N designed to run on 7.4 volt lipos recvr packs...+ a little more torque); Street price:$47) I like to use HiTec or Futaba servos because the LHS can get parts pretty quick. Craig, In addition to the .21 JAE build, I added this rigger to my winter projects. Roger C.

Gas rigger??

Roger C. http://www.rcuniverse.com/gallery/ga...berID%3D439560 IF I was to build a gas rigger, I would put a rear exhaust RCMK in it. The gas boats look so much better when they are more streamlined, and it's hard to do that with a fugly carb cover off the starboard side. :) Neil, rumor has it that Novarossi is working on a .90 nitro engine.... :D |

Craig the 90 evil twin.
Roger .old school is right I do like the dewdrop carb cover. them sponsons may workout. As you've seen the JAE rocking back and forth. that's scary at high speeds ,I better run this one |

Bill, yes..it's a gas rigger. I just liked the looks of the sponsons and it was pretty cheap. I want to have a rigger setup with one of my HiRev Quickdraws. RC

RE: Central NEW YORK boaters
Guys, who is up for Stony Pond holding a "big" race next summer? This would be seperate from the two NY state series races. Neil and I are already in.
If we want to do it, we have to pick a name. Any suggestions? We can vote on it. Luc has provided open D1 dates and right now I am leaning toward August 10 and 11. Any problems with that weekend? I would like to do something different and was thinking of doing a championship race that includes heat racing, oval time trials, and SAW time trials. This would be similar to what is sometimes done at the IMPBA Internats. Heat racing would be on Saturday and time trials on Sunday. The heat racing results would be weighted x 2. The time trials would be x 1. So, a first place in all three events would give you a 1600 score. A first in both time trial events, but only a 3rd in heat racing would give you a 1250 score. Any thoughts? |

Craig, This is Mark Crombach, I met you at the last Elmira race. That sounds great! will Stony pond be hosting any other races In addition to Southern tier's race schedule? It would be great to be able to race more than once a month.
