Default Great Planes Ugly Stik Restoration

I got this old ARF Great Planes Big Stik 60 at an estate auction.
it was in bad condition (see last picture)
The Wing had been recovered and the plane sat for about 10 years and looked pretty rough but I had a vision- I knew that I could restore it and bring it back to life.
So all the covering was removed and some sloppy repairs had been done to it but no fuel at all on the Balsa.
I made proper repairs to the damaged areas and glued all of the joints which it really needed.
I took out the Dihedral and mounted servos in the wings.
I wanted to personalize this plane so I created my own Rudder for it.
Since there are Millions of Stiks in the traditional Red, Black and White color scheme I decided to make mine a different color that would really make this plane stand out from the rest.
I used Monokote Royal Blue, metallic Gold and Black.
I created the cross pattern myself.
I mounted a Saito 72 on the nose.
This was a fun winter project and it came out exactly as I envisioned it.
Im looking forward to Spring now more than ever!😀

Great Planes Big Stik 60. Saito 72 Custom Rudder.

Great Planes Ugly Stick 60. I’m happy with my color choice- it works very well on this plane.

Ugly Stik is not so Ugly anymore.

This how it looked when I got it for $22.

Looks great, nice job. What's a winter project though? I'm flying tomorrow. (FL, 77 degrees.)

Here in Indiana it’s 35 degrees.
I don’t wanna fly THAT bad.
