SIG Four Star 60: Super Tigre 90: Prop Help
Been flying this above model with a 13X6 APC Prop. Flies fast and goes unlimited vertical.
Would like to try a slower prop with more pull. Here are the recommended props from the engine manual:
Break In Props: 12X8, 13X6 { The engine is broken in now. Stayed with the 13X6 so far}
Rec. Prop Range:
11X8
11X9
12X7
12X8
12X9
13X7
Which one will be the best "puller" or other advice on all around great prop.

Stick with the 13X6. You might try a 14X5 maybe even a 14X6. Remember that 2-Strokes prefer to rev, unlike a 4-Stroke which can produce more power at lower RPMs. So whatever prop you use you should, ideally, look for one that will have the same max rpm as the 13X6 develops. Pretty close anyway. Do you have a tachometer?
Whatever you do don't over-prop it or you will ruin the engine.

All of the props you listed are high speed props. Most 2 stroke 90's run 14x6's and that would slow your airplane down, but it won't give it more pull. Try an APC 14x4W (Wide). That should give you what you are looking for. Decent speed and TONS of pull.

Yep. That's another story. Hobbico Mini Tach. Couldn't get a reading until a read the techniques for using one. {shade/sun}. Haven't tried it since advice, but will try again today.

Any problems mounting that engine in the 4*60? Balance? I am thinking about building one and put in a ST G-90 converted to run on gasoline. Should be fun.

SIG wisely recommends moving the engine as far back on the mount as possible. I also moved the servo tray as far back as possible. This made it slightly tail heavy on CG check, but with the generous wing loading it flies terrific. In fact, once you get comfortable you can experiment with a little lead in the back and get it more tail heavy. Add an ounce at a time. You'll have it right when you can fly inverted hands off.
