Default Katana or Chipmunk?

Hi guys,

at my LHS there are two arf .40 kits I can choose from: a Chipmunk which looks awesome, scale and all...; and a Katana, which could teach me 3D, larger rudder but higher wing loading...

Which one should I go for? I can fly everything on the book except for 3D and want the plane for relaxing between my helo flights...

I think it is just a Chinese Funtana copy. Seems really well made...

I dont know how well it will 3d but it will definately be more fun than the chipmunk. Get the katana. Then again why consider just what the lhs has in stock. I'm sure there is better plane that will teach you 3d easier for the same price. A profile would be great.

This is one of those DEEP questions... Ultimately there is no wrong answer.

The question is; "What kind of flying do YOU LIKE?" []

IF 3d hovering and beyond reality areobatics is your style - Get the Katana. [8D]

IF you like a smooth flying Aircraft that can perform some stellar moves in all sorts of winds (sorry no hanging on the propeller [&o]) Then the Super Chipmunk is for you.

My BIG question is; "Why are you only looking at ARFs?" []

Try building a kit and then you can appreciate the AC for what it is, and take pride in knowing that you made that plane and look what it can do! [X(]

Here's a solution for you... BUY the KATANA ARF and have fun this summer.

Buy a Super Chipmunk Kit and have fun this winter - come spring you can tell US which is the better plane!

Here's my S Chip.
