Default Trex 450 PRO clone

I have been following the discussions about the EXI Trex clones (I also own a Blue Ray) Having bought a used Trex SEV2 recently Iwas happy to find out that most if not all the parts are interchangeable. I also own a previously owned never completed Align Trex PRO - I was ordering parts to complete and stumbled on to the www.scaleflying.com site and noticed they are advertising a clone of the Trex PRO, identical to my eyes in all respects for $150.00. Wow, just ordering the hardware to complete my own align pro cost me $106.00 - unfortunately I had already pressed the "submit" button on the heliproz website.
Has anyone seen one of these up close or flown one? Looks like a pretty good bird!

Hi,

I looked at the link for the 450 Clone . it looks similar to the Hobbyking 450 Pro (not sure if the quality of alloys is higher in yours though)

The Hobbkyking one here is only $69 for the entire kit. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=10901

I have built one and it flies beautifully... For the price I think it was excellent value.. I have almost 60 flights on it now and it is running like a swiss watch..

Here is the build in time lapse - I used all the stock parts - didn't have to replace anything, the kit was good.. and so far very reliable.

and here is the Maiden Flight..

It is a beautiful smooth heli to fly and I fly it on average 5 times a day..

A pic here with my other two 450 clones.. an EXI 450 and a HK450 GT

You have a nice looking little airforce going on there! Did you notice that the one I mentioned was carbon fiber framed? I was looking at my PRO that I'm rebuilding, and they look identical down to the cutouts on the fram. Pretty sweet deal! I wish I'd seen it before I'd ordered all that stuff from Heliproz - I could have had the same thing I'm going to wind up with and wouldn't have the hassle of building it. (Though for me I really enjoy building.)

Nice videos! I'll have to put one of my own on here - maybe when I finish this rebuild. Or better yet, maybe I should start a build thread about the rebuild!

Oh yeah - did you see that they have the 500 and 600 size as well?I looked at the video clip on the site, and the guy narrating it must have said 1/2 dozen times: "ALL parts are identical and interchangeable with Align's".

Thank God that either Aligns patent ran out or someone copied it and didn't worry about the patent, otherwise I couldn't afford this hobby!

Yeah a 50 size MD 500 E using a HK-600 GT using all Turnigy parts cost $711

One using an Align 600 using all high end parts cost $2,500

Big difference there.

yes, both my 450 GT and the 450 Pro from Hobbyking are carbon framed with all metal head and tails..

I have read that some people say the screws supplied with the HK helis are soft, but that was not the case in my experience...

I have over 120 really hard flights on my 450 GT and it is running perfectly.. completely stock as it came in the box.. No issues at all

Same with the 450 Pro.. over 60 flights, Loops, rolls, full power pitch pumps postive and negative.. and NO issues at all.. again all totally stock.. I'd buy another HK Pro in a heartbeat! $69,,,,

I have two trex 450 heli's a 450se and a V2 i wanted a 450 pro i have been reading about clones on here and thought i would take a chance on a HK 450 pro TT it worked out just over 1/3 the price of the align pro .

when i had a good look at it i would say its every bit as good as my trex's its excellent quality all carbon /alloy very well made ,

hopefully it will be flying in a couple of weeks and with the money i have saved i can look at a futaba 8fg now

Edit :- All done and ready to try Very happy with it .
Edit 2 :- its had about 10 flights now and flys perfect every bit as good as my Trex 450se ( could not live with the hideous canopy had to fit a Trex sport one ) its a great little helicopter ,

Thanks, nice to see a side by side comparison..

I have been very happy with all my HK helis and the quality has been great.. I kept trying to imagine how a genuine one could be much better?

Anyway.. great to have your comment...

and yes, they are cheap! This one cost me $9.99 for the kit..

It flies perfectly!

I would say its 2nd best to the HK450 PRO , my mate just bought one after seeing my HK 450 it was found to have a few more plastic parts on ,tail servo mount , boom support ,the tail arm assy keeps faling to bits ( its one machined part on the HK 450)
The genral all black finnish is not as good as the HK 450 that has a nice gun metal finnish on the head , boom and tail rotor with all parts stamped "HK 450 TT PRO" in white

even though they are the same model side by side the HK 450 looks so much nicer ( i also have an align 450 the quality of that and the HK 450 are the same )

from all the reviews i have looked at and the forms people say the tarot 450 is better than the hk to each his own.
