In an unrelated topic I'd like to thank Noel once again for helping with the most daunting project EVER!

Trying to get my APM to marry up to my OSD Mavlink.

For GODS sake what a forking PIA and if you hook ONE thing up wrong POOF "Magic blue smoke".

I had to hook, hook, rehook and hook that b a s t a r d up 5 dozen times!

Anyhooo now my APM had OSD on my Q450 of which I, fly!

Well done, daddio!

And my Pro flies very well; it's the Taranis that's nearly a virgin, you spooty-head!

I was all like "Go back! Go back to that Cub! Go back to that little GeeBee! DAMMITT!"

Hope ya didn't go home with more than ya brought, buddy! That's what always happens ta ME!

In other news:

After a grueling 15-hour battle involving multiple trips to TSC, HomeOwner Hell and Pizza Hut, I finally beat my dryer into submission; I was able to patch it up with bits & pieces until the correct parts arrive on Monday. Which is good; I have a mountain of pukey laundry that HAS to be washed & dried thanks to both the little ones being home the last 2 days with a stomach bug. The joys of parenthood!

Yah, the only think I liked was a "Lake Aircraft" which is the predecessor of the ICON A5.

In fact my agency used to have one!

Problem is, is that the model was made with balsa and had a gas motor.

Heh!

Well, now we know where you got yer addiction from...

In other news... my job interview went well, so hopefully I'll be employed soon. You know... a regular day job again.

While catching up on the Taranis How-To thread (just a little light reading... ), I stumbled across this little gem... caught me hook, line & sinker. I swear I thought it was some weird sort of SPAM right up until the very end; but I HAD to see what the hook was.

My DYS 1806es came in... now I guess I need to get to work modding my KK2 to fly sideways. My PDB will be here SOON.

Hope all is well in your corner of the world!

Damn. Bluff called by a 6-year-old. I better never teach that boy how to play Poker.

I actually scored a 2nd one today off of a guy in Tampa.

Never been flown off the water.

I see FPV in my future with YOUR repaired APM!

Congrats on the new gig!

Hiya Lads,

Great to see the progress you are all making with your complex quads and camera's and whot not.

I'm still trying to master your basic planks.

I had another first last weekend and maidened my first gasser. It was a 33cc petrol engine in a 76 inch Yak 54 from Pilot RC. All went perfectly including greasing every landing. There was a huge pucker factor involved as it is a huge powerful plane and they fly differently to electric motors, not to mention that having $1,500 worth of kit and a gazillion hours building, setting up running in etc at the mercy of one little mistake tends to get you focused and all puckered up.

I need to tick another box. Time for a Jet!

All the best lads, and good luck on the job front MNEM

Best,
Phil

The Yak is a fabulously well-mannered plane; it's about as forgiving as you're going to get in any true aerobatic frame. I've killed two. Fortunately, both were much smaller and and less expensive than yours.

And thanks for the congrats! Maybe I'll be able to afford this hobby in the near future!

I'll be very interested in your jet acquisition!

All is well with me and having a blast flying planks and mini FPV quads!

All the best and thanx for stopping in!

I predicted that from ya.. ;-)

Hope to maiden the Taranis tomorrow, one of my quads has the Delta 8 RX (Multi protocol) and I was using it with a Futaba, it bound to the Taranis easily enough.

I now understand why people love these radios.

Wow, go away for a week and the forum goes crazy. Didnt get notifications and when I check theres posts galore.

@ Phil. Nice plane mate but Im betting the pic isnt yours. Not on the Maiden anyway Start uploading some videos man. Im getting sick of Brians potty mouth.

@ Rob. Yeah I saw your ship on the news last night. Cant remember if I saw any Phantom footage though so maybe it was a maverick showing off. Best you keep that video unlisted. Us quad guys already have a bad enough name.

@ Mnen. Hope you got the job. Might keep you off the other forums for a while as I see your on at least one ignore list You really do have a way with words.

@ Brian. Yeah whatever. We may as well be married we talk that often.

Ive been enjoying the ZMR 250 and just started trying the 5x4 props on it. Zippy little thing it is. Got some 6x3,s to try next but Im hanging off as its driving someone wild.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppF3a65SJTo Ive been working at a local airport for the last few days. Birds eye view of the runway. Lunch time watching all the action is great.
The guy Im working for has promised me a flight on his plane. Looking forward to it. Rob might find it boring as hes used to it but Im like a kid in a lolly shop.

Glad to see ya back! Was a'fear'd yer mind wandered and took yer body along for company; happens to me all the time!

Yeah; I figure if I'm not pissing somebody off, I'm doing something wrong. If they want to ignore me, they're welcome to; I'll keep an open mind. I'm man enough to do my own idea-filtering; I'm also man enough to accept the consequences of my actions.

b -

Props & ESCs have arrived; still waiting on some proper motor screws which should arrive any day now, and my PDB. If it takes too much longer, I may have to cut my losses and build without. I'm starting out with the HQ6030s; got 6045s for my step-up.

Haven't had the money for a Naze; so probably gonna give 'er a go with yer old KK2.

Pray for me!

[EDIT]

Motor screws arrived today; guess I should have looked more closely before clicking the buy button: I am now the proud owner of 100 pcs m2.5 x 8mm SS Socket-Head screws...

[/EDIT]
