Default Help with my tgm-01 Mad Bison truck

I have a tgm-01 Mad Bison, brought it yesterday. Does anyone know how to get the brake to work? May need adjusting or something. When you go to use the brake it just takes the idle speed down very slightly just as if you have just let go of the throttleand does not actually stop the car untill the car has either crashes or to a stop by its self. Iam also very new to the nitro thing so please speak to me like im really dumb so i understand. Cheers guys, any help would be good. Here are some pics of the engine.

Default RE: Help with my tgm-01 Mad Bison truck

Over time and use, the brake pads wear down and since the brakes can only travel so far the braking power weakens. To bring the braking power back up, you either need brake shims to take up the excess play or new pads if they are work too badly. The manual can tell you the smallest size it can be before needing replacement.

Surpisingly, Tamiya still carries quite a few parts for it.
