Default 120 or 140 degree ?

What's the difference (besides 20 degrees) in swashplate config?
Is there an advantge of one over the other?
Btw, am pretty well sold on making a TT raptor 50 pro my first nitor bird.

The Raptor isn't ccpm so its kind of a moot point.

Why do you think you need CCPM?

Have been told it is a much better way of doing things with regard to the swash plate. More accurate control, easier on servos.

On a different note, looking at prices of choppers tha come with blades in the package, seems to me that is where the *real* cost is. I have subtracted the map price of 600mm blades and the choppers and that seems to bring the mechanics down to the $220-$240 range.

Am not much of a chopper pilot at this time, but I do wanto avoid "stair-stepping" my way to having a slightly better than sport bird to fly.

Also, my T-rex 450 has a 120 degree swash.

If you think I overlooking something in my search and wants, let me know.

Finally have you seen that you tube vid on JS models frenzy chopper? It can be seen on A-Main hobbies web site, supposed to be availble sometime soon.

Thanks to all for your comments, things have progressed a great deal since I last flew helis in the mid-ninties.

There's lots of considerations for buying a helicopter. A well designed mechanical mixing heli like the Raptor flys just as good as some of the CCPM machines.

At the top of the food chain in the 50 class is the Vibe 50. If you read that link I posted you can see that it can be set up in both 120 or 140 degree CCPM and though not the cheapest, its definately the nicest 50 on the market.

The next level down is where many of the other kits are including the Trex 600n, Raptor 50 Titan, EVO 50 and Knight 50

The 600n is light, agile, and the parts are cheap.
The Titan is a little tougher, easy to work on, parts and information are everywhere and its more stable in the wind than the 600
The EVO is a little heavier than either so its nice and stable and tracks well, its very customizable without buying parts.

I don't read RCHeliMag so I have no idea what article you're talking about.

I think I will follow your suggestion(s). "Tried and true" heils such as the TT titan 50, there is/has to be a LOT of reasons (that I need'nt be bothered looking for) why this is such a overwhemingly popular heli.

Its either that or the Vibe depending on my wife's point of veiw (read "How much ?")

Thansk again Andy.

AH-HAA !![ I did read it, am waffling back and forth (!) between those two birds and the raven clone, the H-max kinetic 50. But am more inclined to purchase the Raptor.
Again, thanks to all for the educational tune-up.
