I've never heard of the first option, but you can't go wrong with either the 8900 or the 9254.

What kind of Gyro do you have? I'm told you cannot run a JR servo with a Futaba Gyro. They have a different bandwidth, or something like that. Is that still true?

This is from Tower's Website http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXVA43&P=0

It's in the comments's about the GY 401:

"This will not work with the JR Digital Servos. These have a different pulse."

The 8900g is a digital servo.

The JR8900g wont work with the 401, I tried it , and when you power up, the servo swings full pelt in one direction. Apparently it's not a digital servo either, but a super servo ? I tried it with the digital switch in both positions and it still went wild on powering up.
Bought a Hitec in the end

I'm thinking there's a problem with using a JR 890g with the 401 as well. It worked great - for 3 flights, then the servo went completely dead. I sent it in to Horizon for then to look at.

Mark,
Did you notice the servo swing to one side when you powered up? Maybe burned out? Here's a post I made a while back on another forum [link=http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/f41/jr8700g-and-gy401-15178/]Servo[/link]
Just noticed it was an 8700 I had
