Default Burnin' titain 12T motor

I have a Stampede XL-5 about 8 months old.It ruined my first motor in 3 months(may be that was my fault cuz I accidentally put a drop of glue in it)and recently it ruined its second motor(it is 5 months old) while runing suddenly it died when I picked up the car I touched tho motor it was so hot that it burnt my finger. My father says that it happened because the gearing was inappropriate I should lower it but I do not agree Ifeel that it happened because of my mistake. What I did was as soon as the charger beeped indicating full charge(i have the stock 8.4V 7cell batt. which i charged at 4 amps)I plugged it to the ESC(the batt. was still warm) and started runnin and after some time the motor died n the esc had become warmer than normal.
So,had this happened because of my fault or was it the gearing?
Please help

Sounds like gearing or even gear mesh. Where were you running? Tires? Gearing?

The stock battery combined with the stock gearing kills the motor fast. Chances are if you ran a 6 cell pack your gearing would be fine. I would invest in a aftermarket motor. A 15-17 turn motor will be just as fast or faster than the stock titan. The Trinity speed gems and Team Orion method motors are a good replacement.

If I get the trinity or the orion motor will it be fine with the stock gearing?
will it fit directly or with some mods?
IS it xl-5 compatible?
