Default E-Revo owners. I got a couple ?s

I am pretty sure Ill be buying an E-Revo today. Im going to run it stock for awhile, then go from there as far as brushless, other mods, etc. Does anyone know if the 2 speed conversion for the new E-Maxx will work in the revo? My local hobby store owner says he "thinks" so. But Im not going to buy it on a guess. Also, I was wondering if the VXL system is a good brushless set up, maybe with the single motor conversion? And if you run only one vxl system does that mean you run only one battery, if so wouldnt that be totally unbalanced, or can you use 2 six cell packs. Or is that too many volts? Or is the revo like the e maxx and so heavy that if using the vxl as your choice you should use 2 separate systems. Im going to be running 7 cell 4700 mah Max amp packs. I hope this post makes sense. Ive looked for all this info, but the e revo is fairly new so theres not a whole lot of info posted on it yet. Thanks

I am not real sher on the 2speed question, but i can tell you that if you were going to buy a brushless system, i would buy a mmm and maybe a 8xl and run the two 7 cells in series. That would work great for awhile and then you might wont to go lipo and buy just one 5s or 6s pack to save weight.

I don't have an ERevo...yet, but those are general questions.

No way a VXL is going to run it without melting. You need a high voltage system.

The VXL is too small of a system to work for a E revo.

Also, 2 speeds are pointless in electrics, they generate 100% torque at zero RPM.

True, but the top speed is still limited by gearing, so a 2nd gear ratio can improve your top end.
