All...,

Wow It's been a while...Haven't heard anything from anyone. I have been just as bad about getting on here with updates......

Still want to get video of the new Mosquito on here when I can get a chance to edit and upload it....In the mean time, we just had our "Wings of War" event at the Greater Cincinnat Radio Control Club on Sept. 9th. 2012 and I flew the Mosquito during the event.A very good friend of mine shot some very nice photographs of one of my flights and I wanted to share. Hope all is well in Mosquito Land

RE: DeHavilland Mosquito

Nice pics!

I have had little time to fly recently, just enough to have an incident with the Mossy... At normal take-off it started to slowly turn left while I compensated more and more to the right. I never managed to bring her back to straight flight. The left wing touched a barrier and the Mossy wheeled over... Junk by the sticks, I'd say, or possibly sudden power loss on the left engine at take-off.

I have, astonishingly enough, only the right wing tip to repair and the left wing panel to fasten. I may try again to do something about that severely warped stab and elevator too. Quality kits for quality pilots...

I'll keep you posted.

Enya engines were not bad. I used to have an Enya 25X back in the dark ages... Now I am a Webra flyer until the world stock runs out...

Best,
/Magnus

Hey spitty,

I love the look of those spinners, I had a look at some websites that sell the BT stuff, but I cannot find a link to those, would you be kind enough to share some ordering info or part numbers?

Can someone give me the dimensions of the retract mounting bays? I have my plane on order and would like to order something in advance.

Thanks,
Andy

Andy,

here the link I bought the Spinners, I´m sure, they will ship to the US...

But You have to extend the Cowlings, otherwise they are to small ( 5 mm )

Andy, here are some pics , scale is in cm.

You don´t have to bother about the retract rails, You can change them like You want.

The Forum is so helpful, especially for a kit like this.

So do as suggested by a lot of pilots here : reinforce everything in the mainsection.

( perfect therefore is PU-Glue)

Regards

Andy

Spitty,

Thanks for all the info!

I have already ordered some cheap spinners to use on maiden, as soon as I get her flying as I want, I will do some upgrades. In the interim I have set about building. Lots of changes will be made, including reinforcing!!

In the middle picture, what is that wire that looks like it is connected to the cross piece on the retract?

RE: DeHavilland Mosquito

Dangaras,
Please check Post 1407,there You'll see that it is the wire for the retractservo

RE: DeHavilland Mosquito

Dear scaleforlife......

I had luck with www.GiantScalePlanes.com who was the original distributor of the model when it first hit the market in 2004 in the states.....I have purchased parts before, but only because they were able to grab them out of other model boxes that were damaged in shipping at that time...They still might have some parts but the website has been closed down and the company is owned by a model helicopter company...
If you can work your way through all of the web pages it will come up with a google search and you might have some luck with them..

Have you tried contacting NitoPlanes yet...?...They are in California, andby the time you try and purchase all of your parts, you may find it is just cheaper to purchase a whole new kit and use it for spare stuff....I know all about that..Ihave purchased 4 of them since 2006.....

God Luck buddy

Thanks fellow Buckeye. I spent over 2 hours with Nitro only to be told that:

1) They carry no parts
2) They only do special orders only to people who have ordered from them before
3) Hung up on me

That ended right there. I appreciate the info you gave me and I will research it out. I currenty am flying an ASM Black Widow and gathering items for their A-26 Invader. The Mosquitto was my second twin. I am determined to make it airworthy. lol

Thanks, Ken

RE: DeHavilland Mosquito

Ken,

Like I said, Nitorplanes has the kit but they have it listed for $400.00.......I can tell you thatNONE of us in this forumhave ever paid $400.00 for the kit...I bought my last one from them 2 years ago for $189.00 so I do not know who they are kidding...I see they have an RC universe special on the model which they say is sold out for $225.00..... That has ALWAYS been the price it has sold for in the past....

Ithink they are trying to scam some folks becuase it's Christmas.....Keep looking around, I am sure you can find the parts you are looking for....

Yea...!

Nitroplanes is a strange bunch of folks when it comes to customer service...I think they only have one guy doing everything out there on the west coast andhe can't speak very good English either.....

Very frustraiting, and they will not do anything about making it better either...Their loss.......

Anyway..............

Here are some videos of my Mosquitothat you may or may have not seen...In the first video, it shows how well the engines are running together...Itune them up mechanically....No computer radio, nothing fancy....just set them up with very fine adjustments and servo guard spring kits from DuBro...

The other has a great musictrack I put with the model and ran it in slow motion....I like the music....

Spitty,

Sorry, I've been away.
Crash is not too bad but I tend to let it sit for a while until I get inspiration.

I'll be back with pics and I'll add to my build log: http://hansenm.web.cern.ch/hansenm/p...eDirectory.htm.
Best,
/M
