Cool, Yes, I lengthened the battery leads, The motor leads I left alone, they were long enough as is. In not sure about lengthening the motor leads I have heard that you can & that you can't, so I left them alone. Yep 27t seems to work out pretty good.

Jim .. I think I will try the Sidewinder 4600 combo. I see you lengthened the batt leads. Did you do the same for the motor/esc, or if you didn't , CAN YOU without probs with the esc. Also, it looks like the 27t pinion is a good start without getting too crazy .. correct ?

Got the Sidewinder combo Wed and a 27 pinion. Trying to fab up a new rx / esc box. I hate balloons. It's gonna be a bit tight. Pics later. Gotta also say that Stormer was really fast on the shp'g.

Hello all!!
I have a nitro (DF-300) Blizzard that i bought off ebay. Its pretty cool, but I think the guy who built it didn't put the gears together right. The reverse is hopeless. But anyways, after loking at some videos off youtube, the EP/EV ones look pretty cool, although the ones with the stock motors seem under powered, or not a long enough range. Does anyone know how hard it would be to put in a brushless motor, and a bigger battery? Thanks!!

I know you guys are going brushless which is what i will eventually do also BUT if you want to have a little more fun stock first ,I am running the stock silvercan and mechanical speed control and I threw in a hump 8.4 volt 4500 nimh pack I got on all-battery EBAY for my stampede vxl brushless. The Blizzard definately came alive and could easily go up a few teeth on the pinion.

Hey nomobux, I don't use the on/off switch. Just make sure my radio is on and plug in the battery, haha.
The box looks like a small plano tackle box cut down. It looks good, maybe I will have to do the same.

Got the Sidewinder calibrated manually and took the cat out. High wind and thawing temps. This puppy has some POWER !! Gotta love all these chirps, beeps and flashing lights ... lol. I'm actually hoping for snow. I don't think you can beat the Sidewinder/4600 combo for the dollars. Nice set up. I would recommed a Castle Link tho. The manual setup is a lil vague. I had to call tech to get reverse. Would have been a snap on the puter. Even the tech admitted that. You sure couldn't ask for better tech help than Castle. [sm=thumbup.gif]

Glad to hear it Nomobux. I've got a question about the rear wheel swing arm setting. I changed them from the factory setting because they started popping up when snow got in the tracks and staying up (angled towards body) I angled them down from the body and this keeps the next wheel towards the front out of the track guides and allows the track to ride off while doing donuts. So i leveled them out next and left an 1/8 or so of play before the o-rings and then the tracks would rub the body.So then I took the play out and left them locked level and while riding on a side hill with ground cover vegitation sticking through the snow I ran a track completely off the wheels. I had just tightened the tracks and chains 1 run ago also. So my question is how are you guys setting the rear arms?

I set it w/ near factory setting.. but added extra o-rings for some extra up and down travel.. the key is that it is sort of eccentric so the setting on the arm affects the tension on the track.. you want to make sure the tracks are tight (but not TOO tight, LOL!)
I have seen people run springs in place of the o-rings and that allows for even more travel.. although I haven't found that necessary yet.. but then, I drive it around at 5-6mph.. LOL!
