I've bought several Spektrum knock off receivers of all sizes from Target Hobby. I haven't had any problems, but a friend of mine just put a 9020 9 channel in a new plane, and it quit working thankfully before he flew it. Has anyone had any other problems and hows their customer service?

Sometimes you get what you pay for, and at other times you don't.
I'd bet that the Q.C. and parts quality of the knock offs leave something to be desired.
On the other hand early life failure is one of the common problems with electronics.
If you get past that without trouble, the failure rates really drop on clones as well as the originals.

I have never had problems with target hobby recivers I have about ten of them .I think they come from the same supplyer

Spektrum has had some issues with counterfeit copies of their Rx. Some have even been dressed to look just like a Spektrum Rx. All I can say is buyer beware!
