Default tank plumbing question

I'm runnign a two line setup in my tank (one vent, one clunk line), with a fuel T between the carb and fuel dot for filling and de-fueling. My question is though, won't I flood the engine while fueling the tank?

I wanted to avoid installing a third line (with clunk) in my tank as I used to with my glow engines for fueling and defueling.

Am I missing something here?

As you can tell, this is my first gas engine (DA-50)

Thanks

Gasoline engines use pump carbs to feed fuel to the engine. If the carb is'nt sensing pressure pulses from the running engine, then it can not pump the fuel from the tank.
So when you refuel from the tee, the fuel has nowhere to go but into the tank.

thank you very much, that does make sense. Just didn't think that far. Now there is just one more question solve, which prop to buy. Menz or BME. I like the finish of the BME very much, but most people seem to favor the Menz.

I am extremely happy with the NX 22x8 for a break-in prop. Turning 6800 rpms with the Slimline Pitts muffler on the DA-50R. That prop flies the plane very well...I have the NX 23x8 for after break-in, we'll see if there's an improvement when I switch after a couple more gallons with the 22x8. Some favor the 22 inch diameter props for a little less engine loading even after break-in, helps keep the engine cooler and allows a slightly higher RPM during slow speed aerobatic maneuvers like 3D. Great for planes where you rarely use full power.

I never tried the 3W or BME but my menz 22x8 was turning 7250 rpms on my ZDZ 50NG before it's demise.

the problem with the NX 22x8 is you can't get them at the moment. Airwild is backordered for a month. Anywhere else I can check?

Do you need to isolate (foam mount) the gas tank on gas airplanes? Tom

Call Gene Payson after looking at www.troybuiltmodels.com for the phone number.

I put one piece of foam underneath my gas tank to make sure the plastic doesn't slide around on the wood...it helps it stay put and I need less velcro to secure the tank.
