Default Xicoy ECU and DX10 setup problems

Hello everybody

I have huge problems setting up my ECU with my new Spectrum DX10 transmitter.

Whatever I try, be it the throttle cut-off or with digital trims... I always get the "Stick low" message, instead of the "trim low" message.
I also tried with reversed throttle channel...

Unfortunately, Wren has no updated manuals for download on their web page.

Anybody can help me?

Thank you,

Merry Christmas,

Chris

Chris,
First things to check:

Are you using any extension leads from the ECU to the receiver?

Check for correct plug installation in to the ECU.

Data terminal plugged in to correct port ?

Receiver battery fully charged ?

Transmitter programmed to correct model ?

Do you see the PW increase as the stick is moved from idle to full ?

I'll be monitoring this site all holiday weekend, so p[lease report what you find.

Gaspar does have a manual in PDF that you can download from his website. I cannot get it to load here. Email me at [email protected] and I will forward it to you!

Happy Holidays all!!

I use just a 10inch lead to the receiver.
Wiring is correct.
The problem should be with usung digital trims... Had the same issues with mY dx7. But i forgot how to solve the problem...

I've set up a bunch of Xicoy's with Spektrum radios. So... as Ron said... look at the monitor, and make sure the ECU is seeing the full pulse. If it's not... adjust the end points, or travel volume until it does. Generally... if they are set to 100%... it will be fine.

Now... with a DX10 radio... it does have a menu for the throttle curve. Make sure that it's either liner, or INH.

Did you align the ECU to the transmitter? If not follow the stepsin the manual. After teaching the ECU check it to insure that low stick/low trim = 0% andfull throttle = 100%. Normal Idle position should be 25 - 30%. You should not have to reversethe throttle channel witha Spektrum radio.

The manual suggestsputting throttle cut on aswitch if you have digital trim, but it will workwith the trim lever. If you can't find a Wren manual goto one of the other turbine manufacturer's websites that use Gaspar's ECU (Jets Munt or Jet Central) and follow the steps in their manual.

I checked againg today.

Leonie from Wren turbines was answering quickly.

The strange thing is, my signal reading either shows 100% or 0 %. But it does not change when I move the throttle stick...
The PW value is always OOOO...

Any ideas?

OK, I tried everything.. still no solution.

TX fully charged
RX battery fully charged
binding RX to TX with trim low and stick at idle
servo travel throttle channel to 100%
normal servo speed, no mixers, just all standard, no throttle curves

-> the pulse reading in the data terminal always reads O. But the binding and so on is correct.
-> the PW reading is either on 100% or 0%, depending on servo travel direction. But the reading does not change with when I move the throttle stick.

thanks for all further help,

Christof

Plug a servo in to the receiver on the throttle channel and check for proper operation.

Well..............

If it goes from 100% to 0% when you reveres the channel... but doesn't move with the stick... then something is wrong with the radio. Plug a servo in the Rx, and see if it's moving correctly.

Guys, thanks for your help. But the problem is still the same.

I connected a servo to the throttle of the RX, and it is working normally.

I had this problem setting up with a pcm10X. I solved it like this:

Set your stick to low and trim to low and ATV both ends to 100%. Now with the ECU on and connected increase the low end ATV one point at a time until ECU indicates "trim low"

Think mine took until around 110% until it did.

It is possible that your data terminal is bad. Do you have access to another ?

Ron,

my data terminal is all new, as also the turbine. Bought from Wren last May.. I only have this terminal. there should be no damage..

I only changed to the new Spektrum dx10 TX and this bloody thing drives me crazy...

the ECU and the cable from the RX to the ECU are now in their way to WREN UK for checking and repair.

I wonder what they will find out...
