I deliberated long and hard before deciding to purchase a YS. I read all the posts and scoured the net getting conflicting views and opinions. Some owners swear by them and appear to be delighted, others seem to think they are troublesome temperamental beasts. I considered this before purchase, but on reflection i have found all engines can be troublesome when you dial in operator error, confusion, and misunderstanding.

I have now put 2 gallons of 20/20 through my 63. A combination of bench running and a dozen flights. I have been learning all the time. I have adjusted [ one at a time ] everything that can be adjusted and have tried to be fastidious and patient.

I have ended up with main needle 1.75 turns out, low end air bleed, 1.25 turns out, regulator slightly proud from housing, [ .25 turn out from the stock position as delivered ]

On a 13X4W i am getting 1600 idle 11200 top end with instantaneous spool up and gobs of smoke.

My reason for buying a YS was that i was looking for a rock solid idle and clean transition, this i have achieved the awesome top end is a bonus.

On this journey into the unknown i found my tank to be leaking, agonising over the regulator,conflicting advice offered, i have thrown a prop [ once ] but i have allways believed in the product.

I would like to thank all that have posted information [ good or not so good ] on YS as it gave me an informed choice and i must say i am delighted with my purchase, it is everything i was hoping it to be, my 2 strokes are now up for sale, all i need to do now is source a 110.
