Time for some Losi Titanium Turnbuckles. Mine have lasted months of 8+ foot jumps and hitting immovable objects.
would [link=https://www.ssl-stormerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/seekpart.pl?src=ns&pn=LOSB1230]these[/link] be the ones your talking about? and if so im going to need the actual ballcups right?

I'd go for the Losi turnbuckles and ball ends - I've been using them for over a year with no problems. Previously I've run the Hot Racing (the ones with the yellow rod ends) and they were junk, they bend easily at the point where the turn buckles enter the rod end. That was just running over some rutted ground rather than jumping or running into things () so I would avoid at all costs.

Hope this helps.

I have the gpm turnbuckles. They are pretty tough. Also you can buy spare ball cups, which is handy, as they are the weakest part.

The mamba broke my stock pinion. It kinda melted it. I have a metal set on its way but won't be able to use it till next week.

ok, here to prove that the turnbuckles are good. The ball joints keeping pulling out of the suspension mounting arms.
I have ordered another stock one but if i keep doing it i will have to get an ally one.

One big problem i am having, when i put full throttle from the start it veers off to one side, never just left or just right but randomly to one side.

I just bought a Mini-T roller off ebay. Have been looking for an electric to run and I caught this one with 3 minutes left. Put in 2 bids and it was mine! It was kind of an impulse buy, just wanted to get some other opinions on if I got a good deal or not. I just read through the last 10 pages of this thread to get an idea of how to build this thing up. I am sure I will be on here a lot once my new money pit is delivered. Check it out and let me know what you think!

I think I got a good deal, but you got a killer one! I like that mine is a roller so I can put whatever stuff I want on it but for another $50 the one you got was a way better deal.

HS-55 will fit aparently, but I think you need the Losi conversion set for the servo saver.

Anyone else clarify ?

I don't think it will work with the stock receiver/esc combo. Isn't the hs-55 a 3wire servo and the stock is a 4 wire.

Yea it does fit no you cant use the stock esc/receiver your going to have to use another one, and yes you do need the servo saver for it or you can just jerry rig it like me without a servo saver

No man your right. You wouldn't happen to have a part number for that little conversion you were talking about would you? Or a place I can get one?

Hi all,

My cheap VP 6 cell 1400 packs have both died the same way - the flat weave metal strip from the battery to the wire has broken. Avoid buying these on Ebay........

So I need a couple of new packs and I'm after recommended sellers - remember I'm in the UK so I don't want to be killed by excess postage or duty at customs! I'm looking at the Toyz and Cheapbatterypacks - any other suggestions

My other 2 packs are both 6 cell and I want the new ones to be too. One is a 1400 intelect pack with great punch and the other a 1500 elite pack that I need to get the best out of yet as I only got it last week.

What guage wire would you recommend to the Deans female plug?

I'm not interested in Lipo just yet.

Thanks in advance.

Neil

Regarding the above dead packs - I've not built battery packs but could I solder the wires directly to the appropriate cell to complete the circuit to resurrect these 2 packs or is there more to it than that? I could then just re-shrink wrap them and use them in reserve......

Thank in advance for your thoughts.
