Drifting a rwd mini would be damn near impossible, but by all means, give it a go!

And the chassis kit, in my opinion, isnt the best option. Too much alloy is no good, heavy. And rigid, one little crash and lots of things can move because theres no flex. Plastic is your friend, stock up on cheap cheap cheap plastic bits and have a ball! Also, the ratzas (sp?) chassis is one of the best out.

OMG OMG OMG..... got my mini-t today... i think i called the ups guy a god, but the box was in my hands, and thats all i remember clearly...

well i was a little pissed cuz the ebay dude never said one of the turnbuckles was broken, which doesnt suck too bad, but i have to order online cuz all we have around here are train shops (damned history of trains in this city (scranton, pa))... but its an excuse to buy all new upgraded ones...

once i get those replaced, im re-doing the shocks, and chassis... am looking at [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKXF5&P=7]this chasis[/link] and these shocks [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKUB7&P=7]and a matching rear set...[/link]

other than that, came with a red and black body, so the red is my project (i love sharpies) and black im useing as is... also came with a team losi "sport pack" NI-MH battery pack and charger, and a trinity monster motor in addition to what was in the car

theres a street tred on the back, and the knobbies that came with it, plus the front, uhm, the tires that come with it i guess, strait line tread...

well parental unit is home, which means im off... ill b around...
MIke

EDIT: HOLY SPIT so i had been driving around the living room with the AA batts... well i threw in that battery pack, cuz it was charged up, adn the AA were dead..... OMG.... its a beast cant wait to get the turn buckles and get this thing out in open spaces, like the college campus next to my house
That's not a chassis,that's everything but a chassis.But it's very nice.I think it adds just enough weight.

I just got a mini-t and it is pretty cool, I upgraded the shocks to some oil filled CRC racing shocks. I am also ordering a Graupner speed 300 motor. Do any of you guys have it and is it any good?. Thanks.

I've heard that it's a great motor will you go BL or get a rebuildable motor. I'm going to get my Mini-T running once my LHS gets my MIP ball diff in and I buy a Reedy 17 turn motor from my friend for $25.

Frozen72, I do not think that I will go brushless because I do not want to invest that much money in my car. When the speed motor comes do I need to do anything else other than modifying my motor plate. I heard that you have to also get a bigger gear. Thanks.

I don't have any idea about the gearing of that motor. Just buy a pinion gear set that has around 6 gears so you can play around with the gearing till you get it right.

All right I will probably do that thanks for all of the info. If I was thinking of getting another car that was 1/10 scale what do you think would be a good car. I was thinking about getting the Losi XXX-T. Is this a good car or not?

The XXX-T is a good car. I am currently racing the XXX-T-CR and i love it. If you are looking for a RTR that you can just run and not worry about anything i would get the Traxxas Rustler or Stampede because they are built like tanks and they are fast as hell.

I am pretty sure that losi makes a XXX-T that is RTR. It is only $260 and looks like it is built very good. I do not really want to spend more than $300 on a car and I like the losi company which is probably why I would decide to get a XXX-T instead of a stampede. It also comes with a controller that you could use for two cars. In my idea you get a lot for the money which is what I am looking for.

Heli-dude i understand I personally think that $330 is way too much money for an Electric ready to run (even though i probably have triple that into my Mini T right now)

What sort of diff(s) are you using? Set your slipper a little less tight could help

Hi guys,

This is my mini-t, I bought it off ebay about a year ago (i think?!) with a few things done, slipper clutch, mip cvd's, losi ball diff, got new electronics, new servo, and a novak SPY with trinity's monster termination motor, add in an orion 1600mah 7.2v pack and it was great fun! Until it started performing badly and I had to get the comm cut. I ordered an integy lathe but when it got here I realised its too big to cut 1/18th coms.. Damn!

So I ordered the tekin 5400kv motor and esc package.. Just got it installed last night, and its brilliant!!

Iv only run it on my orion 1600mah batts and its still quicker than the brushed setup, and waay more torque.. My thunder power 3s 2100mah lipo should be here any day now.. Cant wait!!

Heres a few pics..

Also, I would still like to use my lathe to cut the comm on my trinity motor, because it will make a great donor for my micro rs4! If you have any ideas.. Heres a [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLBB7&P=7]LINK[/link] to the lathe

Just got mine! Super fun. I was just looking for something to bash with wil it is windy outside.
What shocks should I upgrade too? Are there any other upgrades I should consider? I would like to get a better charger and better motor without having to upgrade a new receiver and the such.
Should I upgrade the servo? If so which one might you suggest?
Thanks in advance,
GFP

You can't upgrade the servo unless you upgrade the ESC, reciever and transmitter. MY personally favorite upgrades would be a better battery, motor, Dual Disk Slipper, Ball Diff, Titanium Turnbuckles, the Team Losi Racing Shock set and the MIP CVD kit. Those are the best factory upgrades that will provide both better performance and durability (You don't have to worry about the gear Diff stripping with the ball Diff and you don't have to worry about the dogbones twisting and eventually snapping with the CVD's).

But do you have to upgrade the pinon gear with the upgraded motor, say the orion Baja.

You don't have to upgrade the Pinion but i would experiment with the gearing and go to a metal pinion to prevent the gear from stripping out.

Does the transmission/diff already come with bb's in them? Or is that something that needs to be upgraded as well?
