I've built many dirt jumps and I just like the wood/plastic ones better. I don't have a body yet...

Yea it was a bunch of fun the best part is I didn't break anything all weekend. My Mini-T was getting more air then my BL Rustler and it's supposed to be my "Racer Only". Once my Mom gets back I'll be able to use her 12 megapixil camera and get some good action shots that aren't blurry.

Toym,

Yes the bl should be plug in play into the stock mini baja.. What battery are you currently using?

-Andrew
i currently have the stock losi 1100mah nimh and a 1500mah nimh. eventually i'd like to go lipo, but i dont know enough about them yet, as far as charging and safety.

can anyone direct me to somewhere that has all the needed info on lipo?

Alex,
1/72 lol might be a bit small maybe a nitro 1/32 (Engine with wheels)

Toym,
Upgrade the battery!!! Trust me you will see a great improvement!
Every one exaggerates on the danger of lipos there is nothing wrong with them treat them with care there is no problem. All you need is a good charger and charge out doors and your set. Make sure the battery is secure in the mini so there is no chance of it flying out.
-Make sure its cool before charging
-Do not short
-Becarefull if soldering
Just treat it as a normal battery and you should be set. If you are still scared of the lipos atleast upgrade the battery to a 8.4v nihm pack.. <links removed>

You will see a vast experiment if you need more info on lipo search or ask me questions..

thanks man, i hadnt even thought about a AA 8.4 setup... will the stock esc take that, i mean, until i get the brushless? i'm not scared about lipo, but i dont know enough about them about how they charge, etc. there are rare occasions when i leave my nimh batteries on the charger for 24 hours or so, and i know that with lipo you should take them off after a certain amount of time. i just dont want to start a fire in my garage, and i dont really have a place outside that i can charge them.

but i am really eyeballing that 2600mah 8 cell nimh setup, as long as it will work with the stock esc, or if not, still work with the brushless system i am looking at.

edit: which would be better, the 2600mah at a discharge rate of 8 amps or the other one 1500 mah at 30 amps?

In a mini? You must be joking, or just confused about what you are eyeballing.

The brushless system will handle 8.4v NOOO problem.. Stock esc it might push it to its limits you might want to look on google what the esc limits are for the mini baja. Like I said over charging is not a problem with a good charger which should have an auto cutoff when the battery is fully charged.

rckt, what are you talkin about 11.1v 3 cell lipo is fine with most brushless system and good brushed esc 8.4 is nothin... Just correcting you no need to start arguein bout somethin your goin to loose

i think he means the fact it is 2600mah, to fit 8-cells in mini-t you need 2/3a cells not aa.

I doubt you can get 30 amps sustained from the 1500s.
I use 4/5A 2000 mAh cells in my mini-t. I tried regular aaa and AA, and they were pretty bad. check cheapbatterypacks.com for high amp aa and 4/5a.

kwl, they must be pretty heavy but i guess with brushless thats a good thing. wish i had known how well they fit before i ordered mine. I have ordered the ally to make a chassis which will only be 70mm wide, so would not fit now anyway.

I'm using a 4040kv 24mm can, which has much more torque than a regular mamba. Pushing a 20t pinion, it's quite zippy. Just keep the top batteries close to the centerline to keep handling fine. With the allow chassis, it's bottom heavy enough to not flip, even on high grip situations.

i am trying to stop it flipping when i put mamba in. waiting for 6800 in post.
my solution is: making a new chassis 15mm longer. Ordered ally front brace, will move batts forward a bit and hs-85mg for extra weight at the front.
will see how it goes soon.

andy, where did I say anything about a 11.1v 3 cell lipo? I actually have 3s I run in some of my oval racers running bl. It seems the only person starting an argument is you. BTW, you might want to take a spelling lesson too. The word lose has one O and an E on the end.
