Default Mini-T Hop Up - BILLY HELL!

My name is Billy Hell. I'm the PR and Dev. guy for Hobby Lobby. I have been wanting an RC car for a while but had no idea what I wanted. I saw an article about 3 Mini-Ts that were hopped up and I have been reading the forums here. The Mini-T is the one I want. I'm a 3D plane guy. I run big (5 pounds) planes on AXI Brushless motors and use Kokam or Thunder Power batteries. I also use a much smaller AXI on my my 10 ounce foam 3D planes.
http://www.the******************.com (to see what I'm talking about).
The AXI is an outrunner brushless, meaning that the magnets are on the outside of the can and the can rotates. BIG TORQUE! It has great bottom end and lots of power on top. I would like to find an AXI that would fit and work well in the Mini-T. I also want to run 2 or 3 cell Lipos. I have 340s, 1200s, 830s and 1500s. Something should work.
Here is a link to the AXI page. Please take a look at the AXI page and tell me if there is something there that would work.
http://hobby-lobby.com/brushless_axi.htm
I could run a Hitec 85 MG if that is the way to go.
I would run a Hitec Electron RX.
I would love to part it out with stuff I have and know.
I'm pretty stoked to get this going and start putting the aftermarket parts on it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Default RE: Mini-T Hop Up - AXI/Kokam?

What makes u so intrested in running that AXI in a mini-t though?

thats gonna be a an expensive setup.. but your gonna have to look into a motor plate as well as the stock wont lineup..
2-3 lipos would be awsome for that motor and ofcourse u have a brushless ESC

i'm not to sure what is the best route for what you showed as im new to brushless setups. but intresting to see how it turns out
and im glad your intrested in mini-t's as there alot of fun! here are couple pics of mine.

I'm trying to get an AXI to work becuase I run AXIs on everything I fly. Here is a list of other BL motors. Maybe one of these would work if I can't make the AXI work:

I'm serious about the AXI in the Mini-T. I was up front about what I did on purpose. I thought I might get some help from you guys that run this car already. I'm busy trying to find a good body. I have seen the Beer Truck Ford on Ebay. I have been reading up on this for most of the day so I'd say I have it pretty bad.
The next time you hear from me I'll have my BL Mini-T rolling. I would still appreciate any help you could give me.

Found it here. That's pretty tough. I like yours better though. I'm thinking the Beer Hauler in metalic black/silver flames/red outline with my clubs logo on the bed cover...
I'm thinking those big silver Trinity wheels would be tough with that body. Then all the essential hop up parts plus the BL and Lipo and it should be bad.

How does this motor look? The right size and it looks like the specs are close.

Here is my mock up for my body. This is really rough but it gives me something to work off of.
My Mamba 5400 is on the way.
Question....
I sort of know the key hop up parts to get but is there a particular brand I should stick to?

I would have gone with the 6800 but I'm afraid it would be too hard on the car. As our tech mentioned at 60 mph the car would vanish from site in a matter of seconds! I got the 5400. I figured I could run it on 2 or 3 cell lipos and possibly even a 4 for stupid power. We will see.

yeah the mamba has this voltage cutoff i forget where it is, it is recommended to use that, or you can unlimited, but you run a risk of ruining the motor/esc. so i am thinking if you get 4 lipos it would be just for extra run time.
