I also bought the Mamba 8000 - But because it is being shipped from west coast of USA I won't have it til next week or so.

I am going to put in the Micro RS4 that I bought this past Sunday. I also got the HPI Graphite upgrade kit and some extra bodies. I cant wait til the Car and the mamba arrives. I am like a kid at Christmas.

Ok i got my 8000 today here is my report lol

well i put it in same as the 5400 i put it

i ran the same batteries kan 1050 bascially it ran about half the power faster then the 5400 ran with the same batteries
so if u run like a baja or 5400 with yur same packs it will be another half time faster!!
i cannot wait to try with my lithium packs when i get them.

now i ran it with 13 tooth pinion any idead wich pinions u want me to try?

overall im quite happy!!!!

WOW irish, i am J.. I put my lipos on hold as I just got a new rocketry kit for my daughter, she's into them things, so were going to take advantage of the nice calm days we have been having. I cant wait to watch her launch them at night lol.

I am happy w/ my 5400s and if I want to go faster, I have my XXX NT, which is madfast.

OK - I emailed Castle Creations asking some questions. I wanted to make sure I kept within the limits of this Mamba 8000 motor and ESC.

The ESC can handle up to 12 cells but the motor can only hanlde 8. If you go more than 8, eventually the motor will be blown. Good enough and I can accept that. I told them I ordered a Micro RS4 and was designing a chassis that can fit 8 cells and we went back and forth with questions on and answers on this.

They replied back that with the setup I was talking about using their motor and ESC combo with 8 cells my Micro RS4 would run anywhere from 70 - 80MPh and wanted to know where I would run such a thing.

I thought that was amazing. I hope it does go that fast with this motor. I will use the VSM for testing speed. I ordered a 2nd VSM with some extra magnet and sensors to use on my other cars.

Irish, I've heard good things about mambas and stock gearing with a 14t pinion. lemme know how it goes.
Kan cells are great, study, most of the time when i charge at 1 amp i can get them to about 1200mah. I've been really impressed by them but decided to try gp1100's ill let ya know how they are once i get them which should be in the next day or so.

The GP1100's is what the guy from Castle Creation receomended if you are using NiCad/NiMH bat's.

I asked what batteries do they recommend for the mamba and here it a quote from email I received from tech support at Castle Creations.
Best cells for micros in order of power delivery:

1) (best by far) Apogee 830 or 1050 Lipo cells (www.pfmdistribution.com)
2) Thunder Power 1900 or 2100 lipo cells
3) GP 1100 cells (Trinity has them matched and zapped?)
4) Kan 1050 cells (www.blindbatts.com has them zapped)
Because of doing a 540 conversion later, i will most likely get the Sanyo CP1300SCR's myself. The 2/3a bat's are known to have a short life time when ran with a 540 size motor.

Ok i just did the video lil bit ago it is a minit runnin with the mamba 8000 with only a 6 cell 1050 kan pack
the part where the video fallows the car is funny because im holding the camera with one hand and the radio with other hand. talented eh?
no the video is like 7mb so if u are on dialup i feel sorry for you and u can dowload the video seperatly by right clicking the link and selecting SAVE TARGET AS then view after it finishes.!
otherwise this video is nothing special just shows the truck with the 6 cell and i am quite pleased i cant wait to see with a 8 cell and with my lithiums when they come.. anyways enjoy oh it is with a 13 tooth pinion and a 60t spur.
