Hey guys,

I want to get an RC18t and I want to put in a mamba brushless system. Will I have to modify the stock RTR before i put in the Mamba?

i think just the pinions if you want to push more speed probably lower turns and better tires. I have another Q's, any carbon fiber hop-ups for the 18T, i only see alluminuns.

I'll get my pics after i fix my 18t, i broke couple of parts. How can you fit other mini tires? I went to my lhs asked them for rc18t foam tires so they didint had em', i went to try the team losi tires didnt fit. Is there a way to fit other minis tires and rims, the rims for the rc18t there's like a little two cuts in the rims (to put the metal thing to make it spin) and other minis, it's just whole circle without the two cuts. is there some kind of universal,?????????????

you don't have to modify the stock rtr to put a mamba in but i would recomend a heat sink motor mount those things run hot

i didnt check your name but one above mamba comment, its becuase you're trying to use front wheels, you must use 4 team losi back wheels on the 18t, remember, its 4wd as opposed to the mini-t which is only 2, so only the backs have drive slots cut.
wait, ok, i have a thread view at the bottom, this is to RCNewComer

I have a rc18t. I think it is a alright machine, besides me shredding a diff gear within about 20-30 packs. I called associated and got the parts for free though. So it was no big deal....

I am looking at a new motor, any suggestions? I am looking at either the mamba 6800, or the mini-max mod motor.

So the speed would be about the same.... between the two. Lets see 120$ or 35$. I probly will just go with the mini-max. I have heard it is quite matenience free for bashing.

i think so, mamba goes pretty fast than the mini max, well mamba 6800 goes about 35-40mph(7+cells or 3 cell lipo)

yeah i would say the mamba is better and it is a brushless so little to no maitnence which can't be said for a brushed motor so the 120$ spent is worth it, and if you want somthing faster but not as fast as say a mamba 6800 or a mamba 8000 you could get a mamba 5400

Well speed isn't a factor I mean I want speed, but I am worried about my differentials. One shredded after 30 runs, so I am not quite sure.

What are my options for receivers?

I have 2 rc18ts.

1 rtr w/the stock radio. and nihds and an upgraded moter.

and one factory w/a Jr xr3 27mhz FM transmitter but no receiver yet. I have 2 sets of li-pos and a mamba motor/esc, for this one. It's gonna be my WRC car

I ALSO have another JR XR3 75mhz FM transmitter (used for my tmaxx w/big novak receiver) that I want to use w/the rtr, too.

WHat are my options for receivers? I pretty much only buy from classifieds or ebay when I can.

I will need 2 receivers, 1 per rc18t.

I'm open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks..

maybe a rtr with mamba 8000? or an rtr with billit kit?

Stay away from billet parts. They don't give when needed. I toasted two front hinge pin mounts with the billet arms. Switched back to the plastic ones, and haven't broken one yet. The Mamba motor/esc is insane fast on a 3 cell li-po, uncontrollably fast. Stock pack with the Mamba motor is still to fast for track racing, but none the less fun. I used a 13 tooth pinion/stock spur. No actual speed, but it is twice as fast with the Mamba.
