Yeah i hope so too. the hobby shop said they would get mine in 2 weeks ago... it will most likely get there next week tho =o) I'm planning on using my 1/8 buggy starter box to fire it up. The NT18 will actually be my first "kit" can't wait to build it!

I got mine yesterday! It is already built and waiting to be broken in! It was incredibly easy to build.. great instructions. I had to make a battery pack for it out of 4 nimh AAA's i had, since my kit didn't come with it... it didn't come with a switch harness either but you don't really need it. I still have to paint the body of course.. i'll let you know how break-in goes. I will be attempting to start it on an Ofna 1/8 off-road box.. well see what happens

Do you plan to race your nitro M18 against a brushless M18? I'm only asking since someone will eventually ask how fast the nitro version is and then someone will ask about the brushless version.

LOL yeah i know a brushless m18 would rock this little nitro breather. I just bought it for the "wow" factor and the pure coolness of it. This was my first kit actually and I thoroughly enjoyed putting it together.. "Once you go Kit you never go back". I still have to break in the mini engine and paint the body up.. I unfortunately have to give the mini inferno a rest because of the broken shock tower (visible in the picture). If you know someone in my area with a brushless m18 i'll gladly race them =o) How's that vulcan of yours Tigger N. Bennie? Looks like it is the same size engine as the NT18.

Kits may provide a better option for the racer, but around here the LHS sell a lot more RTRs. The IRC Vulcan has a Toki engine, which is what I've read is in the Xray but have yet to confirm it. When I broke the front shock tower on my brushless KMI long ago, I made one out of an old carbon fiber chassis. It lasted until I replaced it with some Kyohso bling; however, it may come in handy again if the Vulcan needs a replacement down the road. I really only bought the Vulcan for the "wow" factor too though it is waiting on a replacement part (the headers for the pipe) that is being sent by IRC. The standard Vulcan does need that as an upgrade though the SE does come with it.

Just got notified they are in stock again (maybe I shouldn't say that, since I haven't ordered mine yet ;-).

Now, before I go ahead and waste $250, what's the verdict on this thing? Is it as good as it sounds (and looks)? What about starter box, can I use my old starter box (for my 1/8th scale cars), or do I need to spend another $80 on a "mini-starter"?

Cheers,

Haven't broken mine in yet, but i test aligned my car up on my ofna 1/8 off-road box. Looks like it will work fine as long as you don' t use the big alignment pegs. Hopefully after the weekend i can give some feedback on break-in and performance =o)

I got through 7 tanks today.. Man this thing is cool! I opened the throttle a little bit and it is quick! I forgot to get some vids of it tho =o(
The engine is very good, didn't stall once during break in and its still on the original glow plug. It works perfectly fine with my ofna 1/8 off-road box too.
This is a great little car and when i take the time to dial it i beleive it will get around the track quickly =o) so overall I am SUPER IMPRESSED with its performance.

Have mine today UPS will drop it off sometime in the morning..

i bought the kit with the electronic upgrade.

TNB u mention the speed of racing the brushless...

member you can modify nitro's oh man im sure you can get alot out of the motor over stock boring etc...

besides now there is no ESC overheating with gearing changes as well you have alot more options :P im sure one thing. if you put 2-10 sell or 3 cell lipo and a brushles ofcourse a short run could be fast but drivers matter as well

i might by another kit without the eltric upgrade
