Default Vendetta anyone?

Does anybody have the new duratrax vendetta? Looks pretty sweet, I kinda want one. I know I'd replace that POS battery pack asap, but are there any other notable flaws to it? Would you recomend it to someone that already has a hoped-up RC18MT?? I really want something i can run in dirt... without chewing up a spur gear, (thanks to associated forgetting to protect the pinion and spur gears...)

the stock battire sucks, so if you plan on buying a new batt and new charger the mini peak charger is the best, so buy those and you will be good. mini peack charges in 40 mins. I would say to go with the Rc18Mt/t/b any of the AE 18th scale minis are great.

Edit: also the stock shocks are POS.

I have a Vendetta and have had a RC18T. Let me say the Vendetta is 100% better in handling as well as durability so far.

I run my Vendetta on a rutted 1/8th Off Road nitro track without any problems. It's been beaten and bruised, far more than my RC18T could do! That said I am a racer and I can drive well, you hit something anything will break eventually.

I do not like the stock pack, toss it! I run IB1200 packs with 16awg wire and Deans connectors. It scoots as fast as a stock RC18T/B/MT no problems. Next the shocks, yeah mine leaked in the fronts, rears were fine, but I ended up getting aftermarkets.

Pics (this is after a race night, nothing has broken yet! Also in this pic on the front Aftermarket shocks are on): www.binaryterror.com/binaryterror/vendetta

Oh yeah, the Vendetta has a great fitting body to prevent dirt as well as the pinion/spur is 100% enclosed!

They are inexpensive--$130.00. Of course, Tower has them listed higher.

The Mamba & Tekin systems won't work...the smaller 180 size motors lack torque.

You can use a Mamba 25 or Tekin Rage controller, and a larger motor. I see people using the same Brushless motors in the Vendetta that work well in the Kyosho Mini Inferno. Tigger could help you more with motor suggesstion.

You'll also want to get lipo packs or GP1100 or IB1200 packs and resolder to larger wire to prevent cogging in any brushless.
