RE: Xray mini nitro truck...
I wanna race one, The piktor buggy looks slow, the on-road xray looked really fast in their vid's. I'd race the truck with my 6800 powered 18t.
The pic without the lid on the truck, looks good. Looks like it comes with alum hubs, cvd's, and ball bearings.. Shocks look like they have a lot of travel. I also saw sway bars. This all could be aftermarket stuff but it would be great if it came with all this I Think it looks like its set up A lot like a 18t. The chassis layout is almost exactly the same.
Bad news it looks like the rims are xray only..
I'm sure it will cost a arm and a leg for it too.

I must disagree, this truck is out, there are a few threads around with build pics and reviews. Having said that it's only been available for 2wks or so. The Xray forums have alot of useful build tips and info.

Hey guys like all of you i am also fascinated with nitro minis so i bought a Vulcan and man i just
love it. My true love in R/C is trucks so that will be my next purchase but i will hold on because
the field is rapidly expanding with many companies getting in on the action.

ok, i ordered a nt18t, and my friend recieved his 3 days ago, and he loves it! It started right up, and had no problems after that.. for people that think this 1/18th nitro "fad" is stupid, I say its not going away. This truck has perfect balance front to back, and side to side, with no body roll due to the extra weight of the motor(which isnt much at all). I cant wait to get mine to start building it..

I don't want to start a flame war, I just want to know. Do you guy's like them better than your electric mini's? And do you have any 1/10 or 1/8 scale nitro's to compare them to? I'm also wondering about speed, acelleration?

RE: Xray mini nitro truck...
agreed. R_man... I like my M18 electric but I think its the whole feel of a nitro motor when you rev it that makes me like it that much more then the m18. the thing with my nt18 I can drive 15 or so on a tank of fuel and then just refuel it 4-6 times without stopping with my m18 and mamba I have to keep changing batteries which I still don't mind but my nt18 is so responsive that I enjoy it more its great you can hammer it down the street hold a straight line and slam on brakes and it wont spin in circles. well atleast mine don't etc..
comparing it to a 10 or 8 scale is different since it smaller it can turn allot tighter which makes fun for smaller areas like driveways etc now I like my serpents and my yokomos I just still tend to like my micro something about it has me so fascinated prolly just a micro fetish thing lol.. anyways I haven't heard one person who bought it that was disappointed. if u owned a M18 already its seriously feeling like a step up no matter if u have a fast brushless or not like most of us. goodluck!

RE: Xray mini nitro truck...
Heres my NT18T just after I finished building it around a month or so ago. Its a great little truck with a heck of alot of grunt for such a little thing. I also picked up the HUDY micro starter box which makes life alot easier. I would love to race the truck when we have an appropriate track here in New Zealand. At the moment I mostly use the little beast to terrorise the ankles of fellow racers in the pits at race meets when Im not racing or marshalling. Its a real head turner .
Most of the structural parts are compatible with my XRAY M18T (electric 1/18) such as arms, universals, bearings etc. which is quite convenient. I would suggest to any would be buyers to invest in some of the quality Xray aluminium hop ups right from the get go. Things like the aluminium hubs and universals and maybe evn the shocks although I havent found that the aluminium shocks are that much better aprt from being more vulnerable in the event of a collision. The thing is that the NT18T is alot hevier than its electric brother the M18T and this means that any impact (which is always on the cards given the confined spaces these things are designed for) is going to cause more damage.
On the whole I reckon its an awesome little truck and although I could have purchased a nice new engine and pipe combo for my buggy with the same money I dont regret the purchase at all. Go out and get one!!

RE: Xray mini nitro truck...
The 1/18 mini electric vehicles are faster but nothing beats the smell and sounds of a nitro engine and the idea of these small vehicles with nitro engines really fascinates me.
I truly enjoy my Vulcan.

I like nitro too, I was wondering how they handle bumps and stuff though. I own 6 different nitro MT's, and now I have three mini's, all brushless. Maybe this will be my next step.... Thanks guy's!

yeah... the NT18 has the same motor. It was a very easy heat cycle break in and holds a tune well. The same motor is in my Choas, but it does not have the same carb. I have had no trouble with it either.

RE: Xray mini nitro truck...
How durable are these little guys and how fast do they run just wondering if they can keep up to some of the nitro 1/10? I'll wait till i see a few local in my area with them before i commit to one. Anyone think these things can handle big jumps that get 4 feet + air. To be honest i want to fly one of these little mini's on the same ramps as i do with my FG MT with about 8 feet of air. The more i watch my videos the more i realize how lucky i was for not screwing up on the landing with my fg. So right now i want to achieve the same air as my fg with somthing smaller and much lighter and hopefully the parts are readily available and cheaper.

RE: Xray mini nitro truck...
very durable... but remember the parts are alot cheaper like amrs and what not. i have noticed on smaller tracks that race 12 or 10 scale they hold up very well and can keep up with adecent driver the motors have great kick to them. now im referring to the nt18 more so.. very responsive motors.
