Default Mini LST: hacker brushless E30 + Quark Pro-car 22A

I am planning to hop my Mini-LST with Hacker brushless E30 + Quark Pro-car 22A. Has anybody done that? Any advice? Thanks. [8D]

Well, I was going to originally, but the Hacker has a low KV for such a big vehicle, it is a great motor for mini-t's and rc18t's though. The 22a is also a little low for the MLST, Id go 33a. Me being the pioneer of the Quark it is a great ESC.

Let say if I go for the combination (Hacker brushless E30 + Quark 33A ESC) with the original synthesized receiver and original servo (which come with the car), would there be a performance problem or even a compatible problem? Thanks.

Sadly, yes. The Quark has a feature which eliminates cogging, but due to the MLST's flaky TX and RX the Quark doesn't work well at all. If you try and go full throttle it will just stop. I picked up a fairly nice Futaba 3PDX, and it's so much better then the stock radio anyways. The stock radio has a very glitchy throttleband, you can't even select all the options on the Quark with it. Besides, a nice radio is a good investment, I love mine. Id suggest you stay away from the hacker in the mini lst. Go to www.b-p-p.com and look for a motor, besides the mamba.

Inverted, you do know kV has nothing to do with torque ratings, just the potential of the motors RPM per volt.

To truely know the ability of that motor for a larger vehicle you'd need to know kt, which is potential of the motors torque (oz/in) per volt.

The Vendetta is a heavier car, but at the same time, the Hypeion Y22L (3900, 4400, 5000) is one of the best for it. Not a Mamba 8000...why all in the missing "kt" ratings.

Of course I know that, but seeing I talk directly with Sky & Technology all the time the Hacker is a poor choice. Hacker sponsors Quark, and it is a great motor for mini-t's and rc18t's. It's what Frank Root @ Quark Brushless used to win 4wd brushless, more informatin on Team Associated's site. However Frank ran the Hacker in his mini lst, and even with a 3 cell lithium polymer battery performance just wasn't that great. His best choices would be the Hyperion 5000/6000, AON 4900, or Wraith, All available directly from Troy at www.b-p-p.com

Ok, I have to put in my 2 cents about Hyperion BL motors.

I am not a fan of them anymore. They are poorly made in my opinion. I've been through 3 motors so far, and all have literally fallen apart on me. I understand that hyperions run hotter so I always geared correctly, but to no avail. It was not that the motor would burn out, but that the motor can kept sliding off the motor assembly. Whether it was due to vibration or heat, I don't know. All I know is that in the two years that I have owned my mamba, it has never done this once. I also own Two Novak 1/10th systems, an Aon 4900, cool red 3500, GH 4700, Hacker E30, and the mamba. Out of all my BL motors the hyperion is the only motor I've ever had problems with. Now I do believe the Hyperion is a good company (I own their lipos and chargers), but in the category of BL motors, they fall short. Lastly, I have to send out my thanks to Troy at BPP for being nice enough to replace three hyperion motors at no charge. You're the man.

I don't own a Hyperion motor. My mini-lst runs on what would seem a Hacker B20 with a built in heatsink in the can.

Hello, I have a mini LST with a MAMBA Sport pack I'm currently using the pinion gear from the stock motor. I wondered if anyone had any comments or suggestions about gearing.Thks

What batteries are you using? You may want to drop to a 20 tooth pinion if you are having a heat or cogging issue?

Cogging would be jittering or stuttering on start up. With a 2 cell lipo, depening on the specific brand, you should be safe from cogging. Heat wise, it would be best to get a heat gun, but if it is getting uncomfortable to touch then it is probably too hot. Castle claims it's safe up to 200 degress, but I really wouldn't make a habit out of running that hot.

I stumbled on this thread looking for info on the Hacker E30 motor.. apparently it isn't as good as the others out there? I currently own an AON 4900 and a Hyperion 6000 that i run in my mini inferno. The AON 4900 rocks for bottom end torque!! If i ever happen to go to a track i might toss it back in there =o) Right now i am running the hyperion 6000. It runs great too! it has a great top speed, and only loses a little torque to the AON. I am however on my SECOND hyperion. The first one unexplainably burned out during its test drive (i was using a 10t pinion so it was NOT overgeared) But Troy at B-P-P is great and hooked my up with a free one. So i guess if you get a good one then the Hyperion is a great choice. I haven't seen any of the Wraith 7K motors for sale anywhere.. must be good =o) With any brushless motor i've messed with i've always had to use a very small careful dab of thread lock to hold it on its mount... the power is just so much that it seems to be a necessity or else they will loosen up on you.

thats the combo i wanted. i ordered the hyperion though so i didn't have to wait for preorder. now i have a crapped out motor and i'm in the process of replacing. i think the hyperion is a great motor if you come across one that will last. i was extremly happy until it started going out.

Does anyone have any ideas how the Trinity Cobalt B runs? I will have it on Friday.
