I have a rc18T with a mamba combo, 6800kv with a 9.6v ib1400 pack. My speed est. would be somewhere around 35-40mph
I also have a MLST with a mamba 25/hyperion 6k with a 8.4v gp1100 pack. maybe 30mph

For the mini quake go with the Warp4-two turn. B-P-P carries it.

Ouch.....that motor uses a 2mm shaft, you need a motor with a 2.3mm shaft for the mini quake, the pinion won't stay on.

Well a mamba is a 25amp esc and the warp4 2 turn is a 32 amp cont.. Doesn't seem to make much sense to recommend this to anyone[X(]

Model: Mini LST
Current Motor: Wraith 7k
Current ESC: Mamba 25 with Castle link
Current Battery: Apogee 1570 3s Lipo
Hi, what is the temp on the Wraith 7k with that setup? I am thinking of getting one and put it in the half8 since the mamba 8k with 13t pinion is way too hot. Thanks!

Troy had no problems running it on the mamba.

I don't really know, as I dont have an temp gun, but it hasn't gotten too hot to touch yet, running around in short grass, up mulch hills, and pavement. I've also only ran the setup the way it currently is three times now.

I do have a Half8 with a 6800 Mamba, but I am using a 14 tooth pinion and 1250 mah 3s lipo. You may have too much gear in it and be over revving?

Nice, thanks for the reply. Looks like I am gonna get the Wraith. I read everywhere that the mamba 8k is not a good fit for the half8, the 6.8k or the 5.4 is a better suited. But since it came with the car I have no choice. My 8k was running around 250 degree, basically you can cook an egg off of that...and not even after a full pack (I use the 8 cell nimh pack) so I decide to give it a rest before I actually lit the half8 on fire Well, I did put a heatsink on the motor and poke holes on the body but it does not help with the temo...I think I will try to find a smaller pinion than 13t to try out but other than that the wraith seem like a good choice.

Its an ESC for planes....your best bet is to get a car based ESC.

Yes.

A plane ESC does not have brakes, hopefully you can return it.
