Default Vulcan/Miwi/Chaos/NT18T owners-How Loud?

I've been eyeing up one of these nitro powered minis for a while now, trying to decide whether or not to pull the trigger. I'm looking for something to run around the backyard, maybe the lot behind my office(short grass and dirt), etc. However, the main reason I'm looking for something new is that my stock MGT is way too LOUD to run in these areas without upsetting someone, and not upsetting my neighbors is pretty important. So, what I'm wondering is exactly how loud are these little Toki engines? I know nothing nitro will be whisper-quiet, but for comparison, the OS .10 I use in one of my planes is hardly noticeable from 20 yards away, but the MGT's engine is still ear-piercing at that distance. How does the noise level of the nitro minis compare to the average RTR 1/10 scale--louder, quieter, or the same? Thanks for your help.

The Vulcan is not that loud at all and from that distance it should not be a bother to anyone.

Thanks for the input. The VTX offering looks interesting as well. I'm glad to hear the Vulcan is fairly quiet, I know not all small engines are. Basically, as long as it's no louder than a lawnmower or weedeater, I'm okay with it.

Hmm. I talked to my brother last night, and his neighbor just bought a 1/16 nitro buggy. My brother tells me it's just as loud as my MGT, which goes along with post #5. Only thing is, he's not sure which buggy it is. Anybody know if they all run the same pipe in stock trim? That could be the difference, or not.

I have several nitros including a MGT and the Vulcan is the most quiet one of all.

I currenty own a NT18T, and I've had a Mgt with stock/ .28 motor. The NT18T is definately almost as loud as the MGT. On a scale of 1-10 and MGT is a 10 in loudness the NT18T is an 8.

Yeah, I know, I know. I had an RC18MT which I passed on to my brother so I would have someone to bash with(I've been using my Frog so far, but 2wd with an open differential sucks in the grassy areas), and I want something just a *little bit* bigger than that. I'm hoping to see my brother's friend's car in action this weekend. If it seems loud(which most of the posters here seem tho think), maybe I'll just ditch the idea and look into the mini inferno ST maybe, or something else...
