Default Schumacher Rascal or Xray NT18T?

I've decided I want to buy a nitro mini because I feel it would have the advantage at a local raceway a few miles away from where I live. I am having a very tough time deciding between the Schumacher Rascal and the Xray NT18T. I want a very agile car with high acceleration, the Rascal has lots of power but is bigger and only rear wheel drive, the NT18T is smaller and has 4 wheel drive but a smaller engine. Please help me out, I want some opinions!

I don't have either, but I had to vote for the NT18T. I have an NT18 and I LOVE it!!! And if you are going to be racing at a track the AWD will give you a much better ride! Also you could drop in the Drake .95 or that new OFNA Picco motor in to the NT18t for more motor...

Also I dont know your time line, but you may want to hold out for the Jammin CRT .5 It is a 1/12th scale version of the 1/8th Truggy Jammin CRT. Will run a .12 motor and standard electronics.

i would go for the nt18t as i have one myself... its a good little car with great stearing sensitivity for the size. the engine in the rascal is much larger... twice the size i think... but the xray engine is prety much perfect for the smaller nt18t.

the main reason i went for the xray was basicaly the fact that it is a kit... so when i smash mine into a wall, il have a better idea on how to fix it...

another thing is that the rascal comes with a recoil i think... wheras the nt18t is far too small to fit a recoil to so u will need a starter box... i got a huddy 1/18th starter for around £70

If your doing a raceway versus bashing, nt18t. Its simply will be better prepared for competitive racing. The CRT mentioned would more than likely find you without a class given its oddball size and motor.

You go to Tacoma? Once in a great while our 1/18th groups goes down.

I have both and i also have a vulcan.

I would go for the rascal its much easier to tune. its not a picky little motor like the xrays, but the exray is still a great runner but just for my money i think the rascal dollar for dollar is better. and its much cheaper on th epocket for parts and just to get up and running..

I've noticed that parts for the NT18T are outrageously expensive, 4 small aluminum suspension blocks are almost $150!!! Xray appears to be trying to rip people off. Parts for the Rascal are less expensive but the Rascal lacks all wheel drive. I'v seen some videos of the Rascal and it appears to be a lot less agile than the NT18T. But the Rascal looks cleaner and easier to use. I'v heard the NT18T has problems with fuel leakage and can be very problematic. This is still a very hard decision...

Here's a Rascal,

Here's an NT18T,

Are you racing, or messing around?

And might you want to show us where the aluminum blocks cost 150 bux?

the nt18t and the rascal are both good trucks... it depends on what you want it for...

the rascal ir rtr whereas the nt18t is a kit...

the rascal is slightly larger and so maybe the engine is more reliable as the nt18t has a bit of a pokey engine which can get a little fidly at times...

the nt18t is also 4wd which is by far its best advantage over the rascal... the nt18t is more of a racing truck whereas, i feel, the rascal is more of a stunt truck for bashing...

at the moment i have the nt18t so my oppinions are a little biased but i am strongly considdering he rascal for bashing...

Click [link=http://www.teamxray.com/xshop/products/product_main.php?kategoria=1743&catName=Option%20Parts%20-%20X%20NT18T]Here[/link] Each suspension block is $33, 4 of them would cost $132.

I plan to drive it at a raceway, as well as mess with it at home.

you would not have to use those. that page is all the option parts. Not the stock parts.

the stock part is $9.50

And can you imagine how hard it is to mill those parts? They don't make very much profit on those because they are hard to make
