RE: OFFICIAL Team Losi Micro-T thread !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Guys,
Don't mean to go off-topic here, but I plan on buying one in two weeks, when I go to a city with a hobby shop
Now, there are a ton of pages, with tons of different info and ideas. It would be just awesome if someone could sum up what I should get that improves speed and battery life...
Someone said these are good: http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id...11&pid=U111044 Does anyone else have any experience with these? They just seem WAY to cheap [X(] If they work, that'd be awesome!
Thanks so much in advance,
-TanMan

Bearings are a big help.
You can buy or build a lipo and some exact suggestions are offered in this thread somewhere.
You will break the steering. there is a zip tie fix that works fairly well, also mentioned somwhere near the beginning of this thread.
the factory charger doesnt quite charge it as well as a wall charger (of course)
you may start to get bad reception or glitching, this is caused by a break in the antenna, also discussed in the thread towards the beginning
hmm... did I miss anything guys? LOL
sorry I dont know the exact pages where these fixes are or I would gladly provide them for you.

The next biggest thing to do to get your batteries to last longer is to charge them on a standard charger and not the one that Losi provides with the car. My 15 minute run time was with a .4 amp charge, which takes about 20 minutes to complete.

Don't get the Losi bearing set, you'll pay too much.
4 sets of these ($.77 each set) is all you need: http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id...11&pid=U111044

the abec basically describes how freely the bearing rolls, which then results in how fast it can roll... basically, the higher the abec, the more freely rolling the bearing is

I will probably try out the 77cent ones to start, just to see the performance difference...
Thanks for explaining what it meant though, that's really interesting

Hello, I'm thinking about getting a Micro-T and I read the charger isn't great. What is the cheapest charger that will work with the battery pack?

RE: OFFICIAL Team Losi Micro-T thread !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I went through over 20 packs and broke my first part...the rear c-hub. I've been jumping, bashing into furniture, sent it under the oven and nothing broke. My 18 month old was chasing it and stepped on the rear wheel. Oops, at least I already bought the replacement pack that has it in there, just in case.
As far as the front tie rods go, mine are still going strong. They may have upgraded them, but there are a few options of how to make your own. The most popular is the zip tie method. You can also cut them from a thin guitar pick and the lids that come on to-go coffee cups seem like they would work, too. All cheap and easy to do.

RE: OFFICIAL Team Losi Micro-T thread !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im not real happy with my Micro rite now. I got it 8 days ago and I have probably run 20 cycles thru it. IT RAN REALLY GOOD until the tranny started chattering on me last weekend. (3 days after I unpacked it)
I broke the diff in, as described above, and kept the car blown out with a blow nozzle. I also took the tranny apart and lubed it- wich corrected this issue for about 4 battery cycles. The only surface i run the car on is clean cement. So... wedensday I ordered a new tranny, a bearing kit and a spare battery. I know the noise was comming from the tranny cause I took the diff out and re-assembled it, and it still made the same noise.
So NOW tonite I put it back together with all the new parts, and it STILL sounds like a freakin can opener!
I think im gonna send the whole rear end drive assembly back to horizon.
Should the motor get hot running wide open under no load?
I havent had a RC car since 1988 when I used to race a Kyosho turbo optima. I think im starting to remember why....[&o][:@]

RE: OFFICIAL Team Losi Micro-T thread !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello All,
I finally got my Li-po's in and installed them in my micro-T . It ROCKS! Sooooooo fast its unbelievable.
[My props to www.all-battery.com.
I ordered the following items from them and received them pronto, and packing was superb.
Charger:
http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp...ROD&ProdID=478
Circuit protection:
http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp...S&Category=178
Great deal on the charger, on sale for $22.95, Automatic charging stop when battery pack is fully charged , or voltage reaches 4.2V peak, Universal 100V - 240V AC input for worldwide power usage, LED indication: Red means " In Charging " and Green means " Full " or "open circuits "
# 500 mA constant charging current. 4 Voltage selections at 3.6V, 7.2V, 10.8V and 14.4V
With Tamiya Conncetor: It also has a few misc. adapter cables, so I cut the ends off and made my own adapters...
simple charger but does the job for what I need.
The circuit protection was a breeze to solder in. ( shown in the pics )
Very small, and just the right size for the Micro-T.
Very easy wiring scheme included on their website with the item.
I plan to order some more protection circuits and build a few more batteries packs from scratch.
I will post finished product pics asap.
