Default Mini Cobra RZ1

I bought this mini nitro truck off of Ebay for what seemed like a fairly reasonable $139 Brand new RTR. I was wondering if anyone has tried this truck or can offer me any advice or opinions on it as info seems scarce. Ihave to wait till the 10th for it to show up so I havent got to race it yet.

Yeah its pretty nice. I think it runs great. I personally dont own one but I had ran it for a hole tank. But you dont really need to do anything to it.

It finally arrived today, now I just have to wait for the glow plug igniter to charge up.[&:] First impressions out of the box are that it is much heavier and sturdier then I expected. The only thing that I was a bit disapointed in is the radio but at $139 RTR what do you expect.

Oh I had it off for oiling while a buddy snapped some shots of it. I can't believe this thing cost me less shipped to my door with a ntro starter kit then I paid for my rc18t at my local hobby shop. It's taking forever to charge the ignitor. I might have to wait till tomorow for the break in.

Well after waiting for ever for the ignitor to charge ( I modded it to 800 mah now) and figuring out how to start it (1.5 days) I finally have the Cobra broken in and I love it. It tracks amazingly straight and handled some small snow banks like launch ramps. I am surprised at the power that the tiny nitro engine has. Overall I am very impressed so far. The only real problem I have come across is access fuel leaking everywhere but this may just be my own fault.
Heres the truck after I chopped the body for access and lowered the posts a bit.

Ya, thats why i lowered it but it can't go any lower because of the shocks, they are bloody huge. I think im gonna get a stock LST body for it and paint it black with a white racing stripe up the center.

The himoto website and or ebay has replacements for everythins and some alloy hop ups. I am having a hell of a time getting reliable starting though. I'm not sure if its me or if the truck isn't set right but it stalls out sometimes for seeminlgy no reason or when it gets warmed up and its seems really dificualt to get started the first time. I have a problem with priming it consistantly I think. Its pretty frustrting to start with I guess.

Its the Team infinity CXP .050. I am using 20% oil and 15& Nitro. I have the fuel intake screwed out to the recomended 1.5 turns and it seem to be burning fairly rich with visible smoke the entire time. I rime to the carb using my finger over the carb and then when I can't see it anymore I prime using my finger over the pipe try a few pulls then try my finger over the piep again. Sometimes it starts but usually not un;ess its warm already and even then it can be impossible. I rarely get engine lock ups and when I turn it over with the plug it rarely has access fuel. I think I am giving up on it today as I've given it 3 good attempts and each time it has left me hanging in the parking lot.
Only problem is now my 18t is not working so i have no truck on a day off. [>:]

O.S. A3 plugs. It seems like I can't get enough fuel/backpressure intot ehengine when I'm pull starting it. I seem to be having a problem with the seal at the tuned pipe aslo. It got oily and slipped out of the coupling. I reattached it but itll pull out again if i ank on it.

have you tried to see if there are any airleaks? in the fuel lines, fuel tank or engine?

No and that sounds like a good direction. I have noticed air in the lines after I have properly primed it and maybe that would explain the ton of oil that seems to be leaking out of it. How do I properly test for air leaks?

for fuel lines that should be th first you should look, just unplug them and put them in a bolw of water or something and prime one end with your finger and blow with your mouth with a part of the fuel line underwater and then try the other end,
If you tested and make sure that there are no airleaks in the fuel lines, remove the tank from the truck and do the same thing, put it underwater with the fuel lines on and prime one line and blow into the other with the fuel tank completly under water and if you see air bubbles coming out you have air leak, same think as with the fuel lines
