Default What gear for mamba 6800-not a good weekend!!

Well it hasnt been a very good weekend, my esc just caught on fire when I turned it off, my tires are fully slick now, and my fron right shock is bent. I am going brushless and was wondering what gear to use(without changing the big one if I have to) with the trinity cobalt "b" 5800kv motor, a 6 cell pack, and a chinese esc. Will I need to adjust anything like diffs, ect. I really need to now fast so I can order parts so please help me out.[8D]

I wouldn't personally waste my money on that speed control.

It might be alright for the price, but I would rather spend my money on a ESC with a nice warranty, that way if something happens that extra I spent will get me a new ESC for free instead of having to buy a new ESC again.

Just my opinon.

How about a quark 22 and a mamba? Which mamba is better for bashing around a driveway, grass, dirt/gravel and jumps-the 6800 or 5400, how would I gear those? What kind of preformance can I expect?

It would help to know which car you have to help with gearing.

"Normal" speed control- I dont understand- do you mean the one that came with it because that is for brushed motors.

Has anybody heard good things abot the Jwerks motor and esc?I went to their site and thay didnt list any motors or esc's.

Haulin azz would you recommend the jwerks in 6600kv or the trinity brushless and the cheap(no offence) esc that you use. How did you do at the state championships- I read that you were going with your pro-pulse in another thread

I have the utmost confidence that the Jwerks is a higher quality, better value product. Just because they are a name and will warranty their product if something happens, unlike the ESC on eBay. The one thing I bought from the guy that sells those cheap ESC's was a big waste of money.

state champs are next weekend, i would go with either one, i would go with what i have cause i know it works great, and is smaller then a mamba. The jwerks looks nice though so i might try it next to see how it does.

Well I just purchased a quark 33 with a mamba 6800kv motor, I cant wait until it comes!!! Now I need to know what gears to use. Can I keep the big gear and just change the motor gear or do I have to take apart the whole car to change the big one too?

Birel did you order from B-P-P?

If so I would have saved an extra $10 and just went with a Mamba 6800 package.

Yes, from b-p-p, I wanted a quark- I heard they are better. So what kind of gearing should I use?
