Best mini monster
Please choose the one that you think is the best from experience, then tell why you picked that particular truck.
(Notice how they all have "Mini" in the name)
Well exept the rc18mt, but I think that assiociated just uses the part number as the name

RE: Best mini monster
Mini Inferno ST isn't really a MT as far as Im concerned (hence stadium truck in the name )
I chose the mini-lst, I have had it for over a year and the only problem I had was connectors close to fusing together. I spotted that early and replaced them with Deans ultra plugs. I ran it on a 7000+ KV motor and 11.1v li-po battery, but the system was WAY too powerful, so I have toned down to a Mamba Competition pack. That paired with a Dynamite 1900 mAh 2 cell li-po provides a great mix of torque, speed, and runtime.

RE: Best mini monster
I vote MLST. But I must admonish you that it is the ONLY R/C car or truck that I have ever owned. So I can't really say that it is better than any of the others. I can only say that it is fun to drive and looks well built. My brother has the Mini Inferno. We took them to the skate park and bashed the other day. Mine took a beating and came out 100 percent still running. My brother snapped the front shock towers (both left and right) in the first 30 seconds and had to watch while I ran my battery out. So I guess if you are getting a basher, I can say the MLST will live longer.

RE: Best mini monster
I voted the mini lst just because is a great truck out of the box and I think it is one of the mini monster with more aftermarket support in the list.

I went with the Mini-Zilla, ONLY because the RC18MT was not on your list...

RE: Best mini monster
I voted Mini LST because I have had good luck with it. There are a few weak parts on it but they are all fixable. It's a great truck IMO...
I also like the Cen Mini Madness but I do not own one.

RE: Best mini monster
i vote mini quake because i just ordered one and i think its gunna be great. i already have a few of the rc18's and the mlst i've heard too many complaints about it not handling power with out gear upgrades, then again those just became avialible so i guess its good now too.

RE: Best mini monster
And just so you know, the rc18mt is just a 4wd st with a truck body and big tires. Not really an MT. At least xray had the sense to make theirs have 8 shocks, a cadillac body, and large chevron tires . But even that is just a 8-shocked ST

RE: Best mini monster
My RC18MT was really tough out of the box. I really beat on it and it never cared much, I did break a plastic turnbuckle and loose one of the dogbone spring's. But it is pretty low to the ground and dislikes tall grass, etc. Also the diff's need attention, and it easily picks up stones and crap and munches spurs.
My Half 8 is tough to beat in terms of handling, but stock it had alot of chassis slap, and I busted a knuckle pretty easily. Also doesn't handle taller grass well. Still my favorite though. Steering is somewhat vague also, and it has a combined esc/receiver that makes electronics upgrades costly.
My Mini LST, well I probably have 1k in it, so it's hard to say. But when it was stock, the turnbuckles bent and popped off constantly, and I went through three set's of knuckles. Also munched two set's of stock wheel's, the stock servo's, and the body post's seemed to fall off on their own. The steering was sloppy, and the handling with three open diffs and a high (for a mini) center of gravity was atrocius. My stock radio never worked right either. I do like it though, and it is the most capable offroad.
All in all they all have downsides (I can only speak for what I've owned), and they all have upsides. Most of the downside's can be easily remedied for each one, so you may as well get whatever one you want and think look's the coolest. (You also could have read the sticky at the top of the page that's even more thourough than I was).
