Default Ball Diff or Spool?

Ok Guys, I have a Mini LST.

It has a spool in it with the Viscous diffs.. Now, people are stripping out the new steel diffs with a spool, so I think I should get a ball differential..

Will a MIP one make it so my front tires are just going to spin like crazy? See, I want some like good 4x4 action going on and I hate how my Mini-T Ball Diff let it unload on one tire.. Thats why I got the spool..

Any suggestions?

A spool in the center, or ball diff has no effect on your front or rear tire's unloading like you described. it only split's power front to rear, not side to side. What you described is just your diff being a diff.

Anyhow, stay away from the spool, load up your viscious diff's with some Tamiya AW grease, a ball diff in the center, and you'll have decent handling and decent "4x4" action.

Well I ordered the MIP Ball Diff for it. Ohh well, I can just look at it like a 12 dollar hit for the Spool, but then agian, I can just throw the spool into my Mini-T becuase I dont care about performance and im not going to break the Mini-T so yeah..

Anyone know if it will wheelie with the MIP?

Also, should I tighten the MIP all the way when I get it?

I have the MIP and, it made the power distribution better. I have it tight as i can with out stripping the screw but, it still loosens. It still unloads a lot of the power to the front but, the back gets enuff to wheelie when ever you want. I run the Tekin 8k Rage motor with 2 and, 3 cell lipos tho. I can wheelie at 30 mph+ and, off the line it is a backflip joke. You can still hear/see the front tires spining like crazy grasping for grip tho and, the fact that the front tires "wear out" way faster tells you that the front is still getting more of the power. This is the ONLY happy medium tho = you put a spool in or something that will direct the power to the rear evenly and, you will replace your rear gears every pack!

Yea its good that you got the MIP because you can tighten it to almost act like a spool.
